  1. I'm not going to edit my rolling eyes post. Those rolling eyes were meant for me writing it was time for Weeks to hit a homer. Man, can't even poke fun at myself.
  2. That .500 mark is just too much success for the Brewers to handle at this time of year.
  3. So much for the Weeks homer. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  4. Time for Weeks to hit a homer to gives the Brewers the lead.
  5. I repeat what I wrote before that Jenkins was 4 for 6 agaisnt Ray King. Bad managing plain and simple.
  6. Not pitch hitting Jenkins was just plain stupid and bad managing. Not only was Magruder hitting .197 lefthanded, but Jenkins was 4 for 6 agaisnt Ray King and 4 for 12 agaisnt Tavarez. Even the Cardinals announcers could not believe that Jenkins or even Branyan didn't pitch hit.
  7. I'm glad it was the HOMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Lee is due for a homer, or another strikeout.
  9. I've also lost MLB.TV just in time to miss Jenkins throwing out a runner at home trying to score, I'm just going to try to stick to the audio and hope that doesn't mess up as well. C'mon Weeks, time for a rally.
  10. I finally got the MLB.TV feed back and of course the first thing I see is Durrington getting picked off. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  11. Like I just wrote, maybe it's better that I can't watch or listen to the game at the moment.
  12. I just called MLB.COM and got a voice message saying that I should try a game again in 10 to 15 minutes. I'll be glad when the Nationals are no longer playing the Brewers and I don't have to rely on MLB.COM to watch or even just listen to Brewer games. Although at the moment, it might be best that I am unable to watch or listen to the game.
  13. Just a bit off topic here, but is anyone else using MLB.TV having problems. I usually watch the games on the Extra innings package, but the game is black out where I live even though I can't catch any of the Nationals games on tv anyway, thanks to a Mr. Peter Angelos. So, I have been trying to use MBL.TV, but I kept losing the feed, then told to reload, only to then have to re-login. Now it won't let me watch or listen to the game because I've used too many loggins.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif UGH!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. No Lyle Overbay in the lineup today, is something up or is Overbay just starting to hit the ball too well of late. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  15. From BA on Gamel While putting together our draft preview issue, we checked in with Jeff Johnson, the head coach at Chipola (Fla.) Junior College to get the vitals on speedy outfielder Darren Ford, who signed a couple of weeks ago with the Brewers. During the same call, all Johnson wanted to tell us about was Matt Gamel, his third baseman, who as the 115th pick, will join Ford in the Brewers system. Gamel went .433-14-63 this year, and Johnson called him the second or third best hitter in the state.
  16. I think the Brewers are going to select Ryan Braun. Both Baseball America and the Journal Sentinel have articles basically guessing it will be Ryan Braun. His name has also been popping up here and there as a possiblity the past few weeks, so assuming Gordan or Zimmerman don't fall to the Brewers pick, which doesn't appear likely at the moment, it will probably come down to Braun, Maybin and Tulowitzki. Okay, putting together want BA is saying and what is in the Journal Sentinel, I am going to guess that Tulowitzki is the odd man out. Which of course means he'll probably be the pick. But, here it goes: First off, here is what BA has written, "They also looked at Tulowitzki, but he balked at the idea of moving to the hot corner." Okay, now back to JS: "Tulowitzki, a solid all-around player, could be tempting to the Brewers, who might consider moving him to third base. But Braun projects to have more power, and though some scouts question his defense at third, the Brewers are thought to have no serious reservations." Now something in the Journal Sentinel matches something that is also written in BA. "Under the guidance of scouting director Jack Zduriencik, the Milwaukee Brewers customarily have used the "best available player" approach to making first-round selections in the June amateur draft. If that player also fills a pressing need, all the better. Those factors appeared to be converging Monday night as the Brewers made final preparations for the draft today. As a result, there's a good chance they will tab University of Miami third baseman Ryan Braun with the fifth pick of the first round. "He's a guy we like," general manager Doug Melvin said. "There's a couple of guys we're looking at, and there's a difference of opinion on each one. "Jack will make the final call. He'll run it by me to make sure I'm OK with it, but it's his call in the end." Now match that with what BA is saying, "Scouting director Jack Zduriencik's preference is believed to be Maybin, but four of Milwaukee's last five first-round picks were high schoolers and GM Doug Melvin wants a more experienced player this time around. The Brewers would love a crack at Gordon or Zimmerman, but instead will address their needs at third base with Braun, one of the best college bats available." So, it sounds as though, unless Gordan or Zimmerman drops, the two players it has come down to is Maybin and Braun. If you believe Melvin that it will be up to Jack Z, then in will be Maybin, however if you believe that Melvin really wants a more experienced player, then it will be Braun. I'm guessing on Braun. Of course, none of this will probably occur, but that is my guess. www.jsonline.com/sports/b...331653.asp insider.espn.go.com/mlb/n...%3d2078618 My guess for the first 5 picks: AZ: Upton KC: Gordon Sea.: Clement Wash.: Zimmerman Mil: Braun I actually like Maybin more than Braun, but whatever the Brewers do, I hope they take who they believe the best player available is.
  17. The lastest Mock draft by Jonthan Mayo still has the Brewers taking Cameron Maybin, although there was an interested bit of information about the Washington Nationals, "If the Nationals had unlimited resources, they might be interested in a college arm like Hochevar. Since that's not the case, it seems almost certain they'll be taking Zimmerman, considered to be the best defensive infielder in the draft who's shown plenty with the bat as well. Even if Tulowitzki trickles down to them, it's apparent Zimmerman is their man. There were reports of a private workout with Cameron Maybin over the weekend, but Maybin might only be a Plan B. If the National were to surprise people and take Maybin, and Seattle takes Clement as Callis mentioned they are considering do the Brewers take Zimmerman, Braun, Tulowitzki. Of course, things will more than likely go as expected, but it could become interesting if a couple surprises were to occur ahead of the Brewers. mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/ne...&fext=.jsp
  18. I saw on JSONLINE that the Brewers signed Ned Yost IV to a free agent contract as a fifth year college senior. What would be the scouting report on him? "One day after the toughest loss of the season for the Milwaukee Brewers, manager Ned Yost found reason to smile broadly Monday afternoon. That's what happens when your oldest son signs a professional baseball contract. The Brewers announced they had signed Ned Yost IV to a free-agent contract and assigned him to their extended spring training camp in Phoenix. Yost will play for the rookie club in Helena, Mont., when the Pioneer League season begins in late June. Yost IV signed as a fifth-year senior out of UW - Oshkosh, where he batted .413 with 11 home runs and 42 runs batted in this year. He earned first-team all-WIAC honors after compiling a .774 slugging percentage and .500 on-base percentage, with 60 runs scored, 15 doubles and 26 walks. Also getting interest from Florida and Cincinnati, Yost opted to sign with the Brewers rather than wait for the June 7 amateur draft. Fifth-year seniors do not have to wait for the draft. "He didn't want to wait for a month (to sign)," said the elder Yost. "I told him if you wait for the draft, there's not that much money involved, so you might as well go ahead and get started." Yost, who said his son got "a cheeseburger and french fries" to sign, emphasized that the Brewers did not do this as a favor to him. "It has nothing to do with me," Yost said. "He earned his way here. The Brewers have been watching him all these years. He worked hard and he earned it. He's very proud and I'm proud of him." Ned IV, whose primary position was catching, began his collegiate career at Georgia, where he redshirted a year and served as a backup for two years. He transferred to Dallas Baptist for a year, then switched to Oshkosh." www.jsonline.com/sports/b...328304.asp
  19. Okay, this is Helms chance to make up for his poor play so far this year.
  20. Kevin Orie is doing pretty well at Nashville, what the heck could he do any worse than Helms or Cirillo. G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB SO SB CS OBP SLG AVG 11 31 10 13 3 0 3 8 25 8 04 1 0 .550 .806 .419 Also, on a positive note, Weeks is 2 for 3 today with a Homer, Triple, 4 RBI's and a line shot out.
  21. Okay, it's time for this losing streak to come to an end.
  22. "Carlos was playing on the warning track" I have actually noticed that Lee plays a pretty deep leftfield which has resulted in a number of hits falling in front of him. I think there already have been a few hits that other leftfielders may have at least had a chance to make a play on.
  23. This game has become pretty pathetic. You have two hitters coming into the game hitting below .200 just killing the Brewers. Can't get any clutch hits and keep just missing hitting a few out and running themselves out of innings. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. This is looking just like last year's team, good pitching, but not much hitting. 0 for 3 with runners in scoring position and about a .200 average with runners in scoring position this year. Hopefully the Brewers will be able to do something in the last few innings.
  25. Keep in mind that Helms starting today was a prediction, not an actual fact. In reading an article on the Brewers Web site about Helms, it started the following, "When the Pirates send left-hander Mark Redman to the mound for Game 2 of the series on Tuesday night, Yost will counter with Cirillo, not Helms." Maybe Yost will decide to put in Helms today for Overbay, but it didn't sound like it from the article that was written, but maybe after the boo's yesterday, Yost will go with his heart again and put in Helms. We'll find out soon.
