  1. Gives up a single in the inning and most of the fan base hates on the performance. Good outing from Brent.
  2. please explain. Imagine the boos and questions he would be getting in Boston right now. I still have hopes he will turn it around fwiw.
  3. If Lauer can be a good pitcher, maybe the trade that doesn't need to be mentioned wasn't a complete disaster?
  4. A good young fielding shortstop that might have an over .800 OPS is pretty good, no? I hope this trade works out well for both teams.
  5. Keep him away from hitting LHP and that would help moderately. Shaw is only ops-ing 677 vs Rh pitchers so he's kinda just bad. Yeah but if we can platoon him with Urias and his career .829 OPS against LHP, we have passable 3B production.
  6. There was a so obvious lane violation on Miami on that play too. I don't understand how you call the 10 which is never called if you're also not going to call the lane violation which is never called too. Exactly! I mean they haven't called it all regular season and pick THAT occasion to do it? I'd be curious to see if the refs warned him they were going to call it because it didn't seem like a large amount of uproar surrounding it.
  7. I would choose Williams and hope that he throws a changeup that my flailing swing makes contact with.
  8. You're right, I fell for the baiting you attempted. I should know better.
  9. A bad pen will make the playoffs pretty tough to get into though. Lindblom just plain needs to go. There is nothing there to keep. Cut bait, be done with it. Yes he probably needs to go but a mopup guy won't affect wins and losses much. He should be relegated to games where they are losing by 4+ or games where they are winning by 6+.
  10. This guy with a 5+ career ERA is good? https://www.mlb.com/player/drew-rasmussen-656876 Yes. The guy has 32 career innings, come on. He had a very bad start to the season but has been absolutely lights out in his last 11 appearances, giving up only 1 run. He had the best arm in the pen of anyone not named Hader or Williams. I don't know why "this pen is not great" is such an angering, controversial viewpoint to you. I still think Josh Hader is awesome and I still believe in Devin Williams. It's guys like Yardley (when he is here), Lindblom and Boxberger that make it a mediocre pen. You were good with overrating JP and his 19 innings this season so 32 innings is way more. This definitely isn't angering me at all but you did feel the need to post the top 3 bullpen jab after Suter gave up a run which is on brand. Also, the pen isn't amazing but top end is what is important for the playoffs. Josh Lindblom getting hammered wouldn't affect a possible playoff game but it sure makes the pen ERA look worse.
  11. It almost seems like his agent negotiated with management for him to be a traditional closer. I miss him in the fireman role.
