  1. Dang. It's been kinda nice to have Jones clogging up their outfield playing time. Even though it'll probably cost them, I'd rather see them forced into giving playing time to underperforming (being nice) players like Jones than eating a few million of a contract.
  2. Several of us frequenters of the chat room are with ya, there. Getting "fisted" on an inside pitch? Yikes!
  3. Sorry, guys. Guess I'm back to suckin.
  4. For long-term investments, index funds are relatively safe and provide good returns.
  5. Doh! Sorry to hear that. Glad you'll still be around. Maybe some more lineup announcing action? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. Zambrano just helped his cause with that barehand pickup.. great play.
  7. He just now did get ejected. I think Lee is still in the game, strangely enough (for throwing the first punch). Edit: Never mind, Derrek is gone.
  8. Young hit Lee with a high inside pitch... nothing happened immediately, but Lee seemed to express his feelings to Young as he walked to 1st... Young responded, and Lee threw a punch. Doesn't look like any punches really landed in the initial fight, but there was a BIG tangle of people after that... Kasper just mentioned the quote from Peavy, saying he'd hit the next batter if someone showed him up the way Soriano did on his HR yesterday.. may be relevant.
  9. Just about ready to leave -- see you guys there!
  10. I think winning a series against a very good team -- even after being no-hit -- definitely qualifies as a silver lining. Maybe even gold lining!
  11. Ugh.. as a seven-year (former) resident of Oklahoma, I love the state.. but that's damned embarrassing. Unfortunately, it's not too surprising -- that's not too far from the playlist of the top-rated rock station in OKC, KATT.
  12. No problem.. as it turns out, my parents asked me to help out with something too, so time would have been kinda tight for me. Hope your mom's operation goes well.
  13. ARRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  14. Sure, I think that'll work for me. I can probably get there at 6:45 or 7.
  15. Yeah, that's what I was getting at, as well. The extra $ signs might have been the sticking point. Ugh, I do far too much work with Excel http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  16. Does that percentage appear in a different cell?
  17. Anyone interested in hitting the cages some night this week?
  18. What did you find to be the issue with that thread? It looked like a lot of members echoed Brian's concerns, and people gained a lot of clarification (e.g. "what is considered a one-liner?"). Hmm. That doesn't really strike me as "the Brewerfan.net Way." The aforementioned thread started out with, "Let me start by saying that I am always open to suggestion, and constructive criticism as to how we run Brewerfan.net are always welcome." Let it be clear, I think the policy is just fine, and I'm not suggesting any changes. I just thought I'd speak up in case anyone has any concerns or, especially, questions.
  19. Speaking of locked topics, wouldn't it be appropriate to unlock the "Three Strikes and You're Out" thread here in the Issues & Events forum? It would be the natural place to allow discussion of a new policy. The cross-post in the other forums, naturally, could (and probably should) remain locked.
  20. Damn, I used to be able to hit. Damn, I used to be able to get at-bats. (grrrrr, ump)
