  1. Woohoo! AVENGED LOSS NUMBER ONE! (or something) Great game, everybody.. I think everything clicked pretty well tonight. Good luck to Jamie and Ajay on quick recoveries...
  2. I think we should go with this new lineup today, start at #1, and keep it the rest of the year, doing the daisy chain thing from this point on. I think that might be what the other guys are saying, too.
  3. Tomorrow's weather forecast, at the moment... Scattered clouds with the possibility of an isolated thunderstorm developing during the afternoon. A few storms may be severe. High 83F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%.
  4. Ooh yeah, good thinking. So now all that remains to be decided is which one to start with http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. Short of major developments in human cloning, here are my thoughts... The difference between 8 and 8.75 and 9.66 is pretty significant.. Most managers would kill for 20% of it. That's a huge gain for free, so I think we should take advantage of it in those games we think we can win.. And for the others, in the interests of equal playing time and comaraderie, we can take the exact opposite order. If we can pick 3 games that are potentially winnable and 3 that are doubtful, that'd be a good balance the rest of the way. (Even 2 winnable/4 doubtful is fine, since the batting order to this point has been closer to favoring the players that would be at the top of that OBP list.) Any thoughts?
  6. Hahaha.. that's awesome.
  7. Doh! Sorry to hear it, man. Glad you'll still be there -- maybe you can be our version of that one team's really loud guy.
  8. So I'm up to bat, late in the game.. two men on base in a tight one. First pitch is well short, hits the front of the plate. The second catches the outside corner and goes for a strike. The next pitch is inside, moving me back. At this point I'm remembering the pitcher's control issues throughout the game and making sure I don't swing for something unhittable -- a walk would be good. The other team all gathers around first base to confer... and I wait a good 45 seconds. In my head I see a display pop up over to the right of first base: --- top of arc | | | | | | | --- crosses plate (about waist level) | --- release point | | | | Nice ASCII lines, just like that. Kind of weird, but I'm still waiting for a pitch. Then a ball comes in from over there, on the foul side of first base, and crosses in front of me where the catcher gets it to my left. From near second base, the ump calls strike two.. I'm done. Not wanting to get Jamie ejected, I yell to the ump, as respectfully as I can, how he could have seen that. He says he saw it well enough. Inexplicably, without asking how a pitch can come from anywhere but the "mound," I take my seat.. knowing Jimbo will be marking down my K. Man, dreams are weird.
  9. Weird.. I made a post earlier and it's GONE!
  10. Nope, just the one hour mercy rule http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif 10 runs really isn't a whole lot in softball, it seems.. I'd probably divide everything by 3 to get normal scores.
  11. Off to the field. See you playas there.
  12. Just to be clear, my idea wasn't so much the alternation, but to flip the lineup bottom-to-top for the last few games to attempt to meet the equal playing time goal -- no more than that. As far as defense, I might be of use (in addition to OF) at 1B, 2B.. or even SS if we're desperate or valpo is too drunk or some other calamity http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. Pretty sure -- according to this, it is: forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?t=3.topic I think the paper one also said 9, but I can't be positive. I didn't think it'd be the case.. but so far I've liked the two night games a lot better than the 7pm one.. and not just because of the results. Quite a bit harder to see right around sunset...
  14. Just a thought.. we could keep the same or similar lineup for this game -- our 4th. Then for the next three we could do a S1-P1-S2-P2 type lineup, and then reverse that lineup for the last three games.. That assumes we actually get to make up those rainouts..
  15. Whoa.. that's awesome. Definitely have to get them for the whole team. I wouldn't mind playing around with the .psd -- not necessarily to improve anything though, cuz that one looks great.
  16. Sorry, guys.. Head and heart just weren't in it for me tonight. Two Ks.. blah. Might have helped to get a couple swings in before the game -- maybe we can make a point of that next week, getting everyone like 5-10 swings in BP or something, if that's even possible. Anyways, I'm not sure it would have helped anyways -- just a thought. I'll probably be up for practice whenever on Sunday. I suppose earlier (10-11) is a little nicer than later.. leaves a bit more of the day in front of us... but it doesn't matter too much to me.
  17. Hmm.. the more I think about it, the more I wonder how necessary it is to rearrange anything to create a rover spot.. from your standard 4-person infield, 4-person outfield, if we just shift RC to CF, and CF to LC/rover, that accomplishes about the same thing and makes the change pretty easy. We might switch a few guys around at that point to get a better mix of infield/outfield skills but otherwise, maybe it's not too complicated.. at any rate, I'll update the lineup up top with the positions from last week and a few other minor changes, including moving Robin up in the order. As always, still subject to change http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. I think he's coming.. if nothing else, just judging by his earlier substitution ordering suggestion.
  19. I'll probably be there at about the same time, Ajay. Anyone have any thoughts on Robin switching, either with razzzor or up two spots? If not I'll update the tentative lineup... Sounds like most think it'll be best to wait before going to a rover position. Anyone have any more thoughts on substitutions?
  20. Pretty much what I was thinking, as well.
  21. The Brewerfan.net squad hopes to make it two in a row as they take on Anna's... Lineup: 1 BrewerJamie15 2B 2 Houlie24X LF 3 Razzzorsharp 3B 3B 4 AJAY LC LC 5 Brewer Fever P P 6 Dougjones43 RC LF 7 valpocrewsader SS SS 8 Bball123h 1B 9 nullbyte RF 10 Robin19 2B 11 radman12484 C 12 AJOHNSON104 RC 13 Iron Chef Napalm 1B 14 Brian the Automator C 15 Jimbo RF (Out: Colbyjack) Please post status changes and substitution scheme suggestions. (Alliteration, woo!) We should also take note of Jimbo's hit chart for Anna's.
  22. Jimbo, I believe they switched pitchers for the 5th and 6th. Let me know if there was anything on my scoring that seemed unintelligible. (I know runners out on fielders' choices ended up as sort of a line with a scribble.. no idea on those, hehe.) Edit: Quite sure on that pitching change, now. I remember being on base with the 2nd pitcher in, and I didn't bat in the 6th.
  23. Many thanks again. Everything was great.
  24. I believe the score was 23-14 (23-13 in our books, but there was a discrepancy -- no matter) in 6 innings. I think we scored 10 in the last two innings to bust open an otherwise back-and-forth game. I'll let Jimbo post the recap and stuff before I mangle any other numbers -- he's got the scorebook http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  25. JEAH!
