  1. Every manager in the game brings in the closer in that situation. Macha did nothing different than any other manager. Sure, in hindsight, he could have played it different. Plain and simple, Hoffman didn't get the job done tonight. It was bound to happen.
  2. Make up your mind Schroeder. Either the ball is carrying well or it isn't. Sheesh.
  3. Especially considering it was Hafner running. Wouldn't even had been an issue if Gallardo didn't suffer from Manny Parra syndrome after giving up th HR! No excuse for all the walks... The home plate umpire isn't helping much. I don't have the same confidence in the offense tonight like I did last night.
  4. The Brewers offense has turned into "Braun and Fielder and pray for rain." It sure would be nice if some other starting pitcher besides Gallardo could make it through the 7th inning. Call up Arnett!! He's an innings eater.
  5. I can't believe Kendall couldn't score on Hart's single. I can believe that Hall strikes out.
  6. Maybe Steven King will read this thread and write a novel about a struggling writer that takes a caretaker job at an old haunted hotel....
  7. Just one of those series where nothing goes right. At least the Brewers will never have to play in that atrocity again. Let's hope this offensive funk doesn't carry over to the homestand.
  8. Hall said he expected the worst when Gamel was called up and let it "get in my head." Bill's latest excuse for his current batting slump.
  9. Hoffman felt like toying with our emotions tonight. Thanks Trev! I'll put my heart back in my chest now.
  10. Maybe Hall would see the ball better if he had Lasik surg.....forget it.
  11. What, second-guessing a managerial decision has been banned on this site? What fun is watching sports if you can't questions choices made by coaches? Macha should have chosen Counsell to bat in that spot because: a) He has better plate discipline than Hall. b) He hits RHP better than Hall ever will. c) It gave the Brewers the best chance to get one of the better hitters in baseball a chance to bat with two runners on Macha should have chosen Hall to bat in that spot because: a) He bet someone before the game that Hall would strike out four times.
  12. If he hasn't figured it out by now, I don't think he ever will. I'm tired of Bill Hall. Every time he has 2 or 3 hits in a game, he says that he "figured something out" in batting practice. One time it was adjusting his hands. Another time it was because he wasn't wearing the right type of contacts. Now it's the Lasik surgery that is going to make him a better player. He has been the same player for the last three years. He's going down the same path that Sixto Lezcano went: a great right-center gap hitter that decided that trying to pull the ball over the left field wall is easier. Too bad. He's a pretty good defensive third baseman. Let's let Gamel play third until his defense costs the team a game or two. Who knows, it might be tomorrow. Or, it might be August.
  13. If this was last year there would be two pages of "Yosted" diatribes. It was a puzzling decision, though. Let's hope Gamel plays so well that it will be impossible to take him out.
  14. Whew! It's time for some tack on runs. Or, just let Hoffman pitch the 8th and 9th.
  15. I had never heard of this injury before Weeks did it to his right wrist a few years ago. Now he has the same thing happen to the left wrist? Wow. Well, Mr. Gamel, it's your turn to do what Braun did a few years ago. Minus the errors, of course. My early vote is Gamel for ROY!!!
  16. Why Bill Schroeder waxes poetic about Jason Kendall's batting prowess is beyond me. "He makes too good of contact to be batting .150 for too long," says Billy S. Dude isn't a .350 hitter Bill.
  17. While that could be true, having his former teammates popping champagne corks after the trade speaks volumes to me. If he was a jerk in AA, then he would have been a jerkin Milwaukee. As for those that say trading LaPorta for one playoff appearance wasn't worth it; I say that the Brewers have to have one playoff appearance before they can have 2, 3, 4.... playoff appearances.
  18. Marlins with 6 in the top of the 10th!! Cubs lose! Cubs lose!
  19. JJ goes through these streaks every year where is seems he's up there batting with a rolled-up newspaper.
  20. I hope Fielder hits a grand slam soon so we don't have to listen to Brian Anderson say that he has never hit a grand slam in his career, but almost had one against the Cubs.
