  1. Looked more like 875.8755 is probably their season ticket sales. I can remember many April games at County Stadium with crowds under 10,000. Why would anyone in Pittsburgh have a reason to get excited about their team? They roll out the same dreck year after year.
  2. As Packers fans, we can make fun of the Bears. As Brewer fans, we really can't make fun of anyone. We've won one playoff series in 41 years. Not good. I love The Onion, though. And the article is very funny.
  3. Thanks for the link. I didn't realize we had access to these radio highlights. To me, nothing will top Uek's calls of Brauns and Sveums's/Deer's HR's. Probably because those homeruns meant so much in Brewers' history.
  4. I pay $1000 for a HDTV. I pay $60 a month to Dish Network for HDTV. And I get a Brewers feed that looks like it's from the 1990's. I hate Dish network.
  5. I think the "Gomez batting second in the order" experiment isn't going to last much longer. Or at least I hope.
  6. Why can't marginal players like Nieves simply put the ball into play. Instead, he's up there trying to hit it out of the park. Sheesh.
  7. Not a big fan of Dish, but I'm watching my first Brewer game in HD! I hope they keep it up all year. Unfortunately, for those not familiar with Dish, they don't carry FSWisconsin. We get the Minnesota version, and the Brewer games on an alternate channel. Don't know if we're getting the pre/post game shows.
  8. In honor of one of the most enjoyable days of the year, here are a few opening days memories of mine: 1. My first opening day memory: Sixto Lezcano hitting a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth, his second home run of the game, to beat the Red Sox. Thirty five years ago!! Wow, I'm getting old. 2. 1992. Brewers vs. Twins. Myself, my brother and his wife make the six hour trip to attend our first ever opening day game. I don't remember much. I think the Brewers lost. What I do remember is, standing by the Brewers dugout during bp, and having Robin Yount walk off the field not 10 feet in front of us. I yelled "Robin," he looked up at us, and my brother snapped his picture. He then disappeared into the dugout. My brother, though, had left the lens cap on.
  9. Manny gets a 300% raise for sucking. While most of us are getting corporate mandated paycuts, or simply laid off, Parra gets a 3-fold raise and he's not very good. Sometimes I wonder why I care about this nonsense. That being said, Go Brewers!!
  10. So maybe there will be a Roenicke Road near Miller Park some day!
  11. I think a Ford "lack of" Focus would be a better car for Manny.
  12. I think calling this team mediocre is giving them too much credit.
  13. oh well, we hung with them for 2 1/2 innings. I guess we'll have to take this as a moral victory.
  14. The Crew gives up 7 runs in nearly 5 games against the Pirates. Hoffman gives up 5 in a 1/3 of an inning.
  15. Kottaras pulls ahead of Fielder again in the HR derby. I hope it doesn't go down to the last week of the season.
  16. I think a lot of people liked Lopez. Just no place to play him. Had they known, though, they could have kept him as a reliever. He could have been the next Brooks Kieshnick.
