  1. To bad none of those guys could do them all (Williamson was suppose to but yeah that was a joke), Alex Sanchez would have been close but he didn't walk at all, so his .280 -.290 batting average only lead to a .310 -.320 on base percentage, plus Gwynn Jr. is a better fielder. Hes a solid player not a great player, I mean hes not a player i have a man crush on (Escobar on the other hand..ha) but i dont get why people have so much hate toward him. He is a solid lead-off hitter, you think being a Brewer fan you'd like that, after we have to watch Rickie lead off all the time. (Not calling out Rickie but he just not a lead-off guy, if he cut down his his k's in half maybe, also hitting higher than .220 would help)
  2. Man I know how you guys feel, it sucks having a young, fast, great defender, that can bunt, get on base, steal, and is left handed! Why god would you ever put Tony Gwynn Jr. in the Brewer system, Why?! haha still dont understand all the hate. By the way im not a Gwynn hater. As for Gibbons... you know its a good signing, no risk, may get some production out of him. Who knows but how many lefty bats do we need? Council, Durham, Branyan, then maybe Gwynn Jr, Gamel.... I dont know And the reason for the haters to like this move i think is because it is another lefty outfielder to try to take Gwynn's place
  3. I agree with the job stays with Torres as long as he stays playing like he has, but if Yo is good to go (he has been throwing flat ground for over a month i beleive) then i'd let him go and pitch outta the pen. Knowing a little bit about ACL injuries, its not impossible at all to believe that he could be fine by then. From what i heard it wasn't a real bad tore so who knows. His future comes first as stated by bcf5575, if there is a chance of him rehurting it then the answer is no but if he gets cleared and everything he is a hell of a pitcher just to let watch. Everyone heals different, for some it takes a year and some maybe 6 monthes all depends. The good thing is that pitching doesnt have much to do with the acl, i mean it does but its not nearly as hard to recover from as say a short stop or outfielder who have to change directions and cut. Theres not much lateral side to side movement to really effect it. In any sport pitcher is prob the best postion to play if you tear your ACL, its takes the shortest amont of time to rcover from, unlike a running back who may never make it back to football or play the same after he tore it. If he does come back, its also better if its in the pen to he can avoid hitting and running. I know he can hit the crap outta the ball but its not worth the risk, pitching is enough of one all ready.
  4. 1. Who is our speed guy off the bench? Well Council right now I think but in September it will be Gwynn Jr. 2. Who do you want on the mound if we need to get through 1 last inning to make it into the next round or win it all?(I'm sure this has been brought up somewhere before) CV all the way! Torres and Riske are just below him 3. What will our bench look like for the postseason? This is something i was wondering about. I mean in September we have the extended roster, so we can give Gwynn Jr, Nelson, Iribarren maybe even Gamel and Escobar to come in and pinch hit, maybe make a start or to 2. But when/if we make the playoffs we have to cut back down to 25. So guess it will be pretty much its like right now. With Craigy Council, Gabey Kapler, and Durham.... then I rather see Gwynn Jr. than Branyan or maybe go a pitcher less to keep Gwynn Jr. but he is a MUST NEED GUY in my opinion because we need that speed on the bases to pinch run and he is by far the best bunter on the team, Corey Hart is really the only one close to him. Plus he plays great defense to! 4. And our bullpen? Yeah, I think Stetter needs to be up there and we all seem to agree with that beside Ned and Doug...i completely disagree with him being the one to go down to make room for Suppan.... what more could they want from him, he has pitched great, if hes throwing strikes hes lights out. He just tends to hurt himself with walks. Mota, Gagne need to get there asses going, and be as reliable as they were in the 1st game of the Cardinal series. I'd like to add another arm but I like Stetter over alot of them
  5. rough 1st for Seidel to say the least, 5 runs, 3 earned, 3 doubles off 6 hits and a walk. Gindl 1-1 batting average up to .292!
  6. looks like odorizzi is ready to move up or at least after one more start u'd think, it could be just me but i prefer not to keep a player in arizona longer than they have to be.
  7. not going to lie i'd be pretty scared if Salome came after me in a brawl! That whole thing is pretty funny, but rough game for hand, of course it comes the start after i say im really starting to like this guy! ughh let me down Donovan. Oh and Garciaparra shows use that we are lucky to have a defensive 3rd baseman like Gamel after he had 3 errors to help give yup 7 unearned runs in the game.
  8. ummm couldn't find that out but heres something interesting got that from wikipedia
  9. ? That's backwards, the teams that do the best and sign the free agents get penalized the most. Bottom 15 are 2nd round picks, top 15 are 1st round picks. I think that he was talkin bout/thinking top 15 picks not top 15 teams....thats what i was thinkin when i read it
  10. a good pitchin night tonight, seidel got goin with a real nice start, and Braddock pitched very well, im really starting to like hand more and more! by any chance does anyone know when odorizzi is set to start? im really excited to see maverick lasker and him start their careers.
  11. does any know or can predict when ororizzi will debut?
  12. just speaking of Cutter and his bloodlines here a decent article about him and his dad http://www.venturacountystar.com/news/2007/apr/11/hes-a-diamond-cutter/
  13. Coco should be booed, hes a sellout, he said he wanted to be a Brewer and a non contending team offered him i little more money and he booked before we even had a shot to match it. As for Jenkins... if im at the games and someone near me booes there will be some unpleasant words towards that individual. In my eyes that person is no better than a cub fan. How can you even consider yourself a Brewer fan if you honestely go to a game and boo a guy who gave everything he had to a crappy team for so long, he was the heart and soul of the brewers! He wanted to finis his career here but the team just didn't have a place for him and let him go. If im at the games he's getting a standing o from me! I'll even make a sign..maybe. Same will go for big ben if he leaves after the season. The franchise was put on Jenkins and Sheets back and they handled it great no need to boo nothing will make me happier than to see coco get booed a ton and blow a save! he deserves it in my opinion
  14. I say no, i grow up with Jenkins being my favorite player and he is the most deserving guy to stay on the team. He has been playing great on both sides and how unfair would it be to him if he went through all those crappy seasons then finally they become a team who can make a run and they trade him away. Hes a great role-model and leader for all these young guys and i'd like to see him finish in Milwaukee....but thats just me. I also feel the same about Benny Sheets. I think Mench, Gross are the most likely of the 6 OF to get trade i think. I think Gross could be a everyday starter for someone and Mench is back to his old form that we didnt get to see last year and he easy be a starter on most teams.
  15. I was just wondering what you have been most excited so far in April, like players and stuff. Braun going off has been great but we knew it was coming and right now I am very excited to see Manny Parra finally pitching healthy and dominating again. Inman, Gallardo,Dillard all the brewers big pitchers have looked good. The Return of Caption Lou also has me happy and hope he can keep going. Brad Nelson hitting well?? Im still in shock and as soon as im not in shock anymore he will prob drop again, haha Luis Ramirez still looking great, and Zach Baddock showing some protential
  16. well from fond du lac Ben Anderson is the best senior on the team and for pitching they have Eric Schmitz who is pretty darn good but i doubt they'll be drafted, but in 2008 Sam is better than Wes was at his age and Theis is a monster all like someone said before, then they is Bubba Hunter an OF from ******on East i think who is very good. Sam should be a top 15 round pick Theis should also be drafted. They are like the Pierce Munson to headed monster and Fondy once again should be a top team in the state
  17. My bad haha worthLESS!!! Sherk has no worth once so ever, just like Steve Moss im really not a fan and dont know why people like him. Ben Sheets will be back to form this season I think and Villanaeuva should be in the rotation
  18. The only thing i can vent about is the most worth piece of crap on the team Kevin Mench, there is no need for him with Gross and Gwynn Jr. trade him for he can pitch a fit on some other team when he's riddin the bench cuz theres noway hes goin to start her. I really dislike Sherk almost has much as the Cubs which happens to what i hate most in life! haha
  19. yeah his parents didnt want him to turn it down but a lot of the Mizzou players and coaches pressed him really hard and then said he can start and told him his draft stock can only go up and be improved if hes getting his at bats. You you know Wes it wouldnt suprise you all that much. He didnt want to miss out on college and he is a very humple kid. Money right now isnt all that important to him. Man I really thought R.J. Seidel would be goin to Arkansas I actually a little disappointed I wanted to see him pitchin to Chad Pierce! I wish him the best and maybe he can help Arizona win some games. quick question a player can re enter the draft after his sophmore year or junior year? 2 years or 3 years? If it is 2 I cant wait Wes and Sam Munson will be in the draft. Watch out for Sammy hes a monster. He will be in the all-star game at Miller Park which is comin up soon.
  20. wow thats not all that much money? Are like 37th rounder ( i think) Wes Munson was offered 200,000 to sign with them thats not far behind.
  21. Wow Luis Ramirez is making me start to forget about my old man-crush Ramirez (Carlos)!!! Hope he keeps this up! Right now he has gone 7IP gave up 4H 1BB and 1 ER with 5K's. on the season he has 29/6 K/BB ratio 2.48 ERA and is one of the FEW consistant pitchers in Arizona. Plus hes only 18.
  22. Alcides and Iribarren also I like to see. - Escobar did great last year and playing in that league and it can only make him better, he wasnt over-matched at all it seemed. - Iribarren is a great player that they should really be looking at def with Weeks having injuries in his first two seasons not he is continually goin to get hurt but they need to help get Iribarren ready incase it does happen again. The guy can flat out get hits and if Weeks is to go down he is the guy I'd like in there. So the AFL is the best way to start to get him ready. Along with an over due promotion to AA. Gallardo, Jones, Parra, Braun are the 4 that I think should be looks if they are healthy
  23. so why is gillespie still in Helena I mean he was a first team all-american lead is team to the championship and was just incredible now he is just rappin other teams in rookie ball get him promoted!! Same for Chapman he deserves it 2. Only problem is nowhere to but them which is a shame. I hate when players dont get challanged enoug hand just tear a league apart. Jeffress 3IP 0 hits, runs, and walks 5 k's. Did Rogers get promoted to Helena in his first year because if he did im sure Jeffress has been more deserving plus u get him up now he starts in WV. Im def on the Jeffress bandwagon!!!!
  24. There will be no Braun tonight as he is traveling to join Huntsville!!! Congrates Ryan! I dont think anyone mentioned this yet. Bob Ucker just announced it. Huntsville lost 15-0 thats bad, real bad! sorry it was reported already in expected promotions
