Let's at least give some recognition to Melvin for the enormous disadvantage he has trying to compete in this market, and how well he's done despite that. If you would have said a few years ago that we'd be in a bidding war with the Yankees for the best pitcher in baseball, I'd have thought you were crazy. Melvin has a very difficult job. He's not perfect, but he sure ain't bad.
I have to question how many of us actually believed CC would be back next year. It was a great run with him, but that contract could cripple our franchise should he be injured or lose effectiveness. I'm sure there are other options for strengthening the team, and we are now a more desirable place for free agents then we were in the past. Strangely, I would almost be more sad if Sheets became a Yankee. His history with the franchise, in good times and bad, just carries more emotional weight. I feel like Sheets and the Brewers owe it to each other to win together. Should he walk away now, I would be angry.
I got sick off of Long John Silvers. That is terrible stuff. Terrible. Like Taco Bell 'guacamole' terrible. I have to defend the southern style chicken from McDs. Good, and much closer to my favorite -- Chick Fil A. Oh, but the winner goes to Krystal burgers. An entire two vans full of people on a road trip ate those and all got sick. They are poor man's White Castle.
I doubt Harrington plays. He might not even make it to MKE. Went to a game last weekend. Despite being an NBA hater, I really liked watching Sessions and Prince Luc. Those guys hustle.
It first I scoffed at this, but then when I looked at the numbers... I think DeJesus would be a good fit, and I think Teahan may have a nice ceiling in a lineup like the Brewers. That could be a real nice trade.
Yes, the calling Angela scene was perfect. I'm sure everyone can relate to one moment in their life like that. Also, Darrell skipping out of the warehouse after Kelly broke up with him was hilarious.
If we're talking about Aaron Rodgers, he wasn't a reach. He fell in the laps of the Packers with the 24th pick in the 1st round of the 2005 draft after being a potential #1 pick (which ended up being Alex Smith) I'm guessing this is Mark Rodgers?
Please, no. He was terrible in Baltimore.Yeah, but to be fair Baltimore was beyond terrible. He was trying to polish turds. Doesn't ATL count for something?
I tried, I really tried. But the NBA may have lost me forever. Run into the paint, act incredulous when you run into someone, shoot free throws, rinse, repeat. It is totally absurd to watch. To think that they get paid for this and can't even bear to have minor physical contact. The problem is that the Bucks are trying to build a real basketball team. That'll never work. You need to find some guys that can hop twice from the 3-point line and then flail convincingly. I'm thinking olympic triple jumpers with a sense of flair. Someone talk me down.
Those stupid childrens toys always go off at random times. But I can see how that would be really creepy. I'm guessing it's very similar to Leprechaun, but with Indians.
The more I read about Macha, I'm warming up to him. His records were amazing, and Billy Beane had it out for him. If it were just these three, I'd be leaning towards Macha now.
My son will be 3 in January. This morning we had a 45 minute tantrum because he didn't want to leave the house. Keep your patience. Do not get angry. If needed, ignore him or ask questions calmly. Make sure they cave before you. We do 'mommy time outs' and 'daddy time outs'. Mommy ignores him. Daddy hovers sternly. He likes mommy time outs better, which means that daddy is usually tier-two support.
If you take a look at the historical context of oil prices as it relates to other factors like inflation, it should be about 50/barrel. The amusing thing is that Iran and Venezuela need oil at 95/barrel to keep their budgets. Saudi Arabia only needs about 60/barrel and they basically control OPEC. So, low oil prices = our enemies lose.
I think you'll see the market really rebound once the new administration steps in and we have some confidence that everything will be alright. Right now, it's just echo chamber panic.
I'd really like to see Ryan Dempster up here, but I don't think that's reasonable either. Agreed: Gallardo, Parra, Bush, Soup, McClung Then, spend your money on a high OBP guy and a reliever? That, along with a couple extensions should do it.
I actually really like the show and have liked each episode so far. The scientist character is one of the best I've ever seen on TV. It's really taking on the X-Files vibe, which is cool.
