    I almost forgot about that. What an absolutely horrible first impression to make with a single quote at your introductory press conference. There’s no real context you can even view it from to make it look more acceptable and less out of touch. You are a championship winning head coach who had the distinct privilege of taking over a 30-13 team and coaching one of the greatest players in the world, and you somehow made it sound like a burden. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Doc. My only regret is that you went out on your own terms.

    I do get a kick out of the Twitter/X overreactions. Before yesterday no one was going to stop us from winning the World Cup. After losing with our B squad now we’re trash and will probably lose to Bosnia. Most likely neither is true. The tweets from the super casuals who think they just learned the rules of soccer last week, lamenting about how Turkey was offsides on their last goal (no, they weren’t), or about how the whistle didn’t automatically get blown at 97 minutes (not how it works), are also entertaining. All that said I thought it was a very poorly officiated game. A lot of swallowed whistles on really obvious fouls only for multiple promising attacks to get killed by whistles on ticky tack crap.

    Hopefully this gives them some motivation going into the knockout stage because that was pretty piss poor.

    I can see why many of the guys for the US tonight aren’t in the usual lineup.

    Is Dalton Rushing aware that he is a backup catcher with like 5 minutes of MLB service time?

    The Yoho stuff is frustrating because he’s been basically unhittable in the minors and they really, really need a dude in the pen. They have a bunch of serviceable relievers that are nice to have but they don’t have a true stopper right now like they had with Hader and Devin. Not sure what the price will be on Chapman but it will be interesting to see if they get involved.

    Somehow Gasser, Woodruff, Sproat and Drohan have pitched the last days, we didn’t score in 2 of them, and we won them all.

    I would also like to see the guy who drove in half the runs this game to get more than 1 at bat.

    They definitely don’t suck, lol, but..that wasn’t even a good pitch. Sometimes you get lucky. That’s baseball.

    It’s amazing that leading 6-1 in a series that the Reds had scored 2 total runs up to that point it still felt like we were going to lose.

    To make it look slightly less dumb when Perkins came up in the same inning instead of Vaughn.

    Perkins will be grabbing a bat in the 9th instead of Vaughn because it was super important for him to pinch run with 1 out in the 7th.
