  1. And it took him awhile, right ? When he first bought the team he was much more hands on. I think he wanted to make a mark and put the team back on the map. You saw a lot more aggression back in his early days, like trading for CC, Greinke, etc. Mark A was instrumental to signing Suppan, which was obviously a miss. But he learned from his mistakes and I think that’s one of the most important aspects of any businessman, I think. He’s learned that the best thing he can do is to hire a lot of smart people and let them do their job. And along the way, he did indeed put the Brewers back on the map.
  2. A side benefit of the Giannis trade is that I look forward to not having to tie up roster spots for his significantly less talented family members every year.
  3. I mean if this doesn’t prove that the Brewers organization and their success is more than one or two guys, it’s the scouts, the coaches, the assistants, the employees behind the scenes, everyone from the top down doing their job correctly, nothing will. That’s culture. That’s not a young genius with a magic wand who can turn anything he touches into gold, I think the fact that Stearns and Counsell were largely seen as spearheading our pre-2024 success and now are wanted out the door by many of the fans of the organizations that purged them from us, really speaks to that. The narrative for Stearns in New York was seen as a man who could do wonders with no money — now just imagine what he can do with money. Obviously, it’s not that simple.
  4. My guess is they get past Bosnia by two goals and their WC ends in the round of 16 against Belgium.
  5. Throw strikes with a late 4 run lead. Is it really so much to ask?
  6. On any given night I’ll say “what are you doing you idiot” and “awesome job Wild Bill” to Contreras within the same hour.
  7. I won’t cite his defensive stats this year because it’s such a tiny sample size but he’s very, very good. I believe he won 2 gold gloves in the minors. Its fair to say Ortiz has a longer track record of sustained defensive success but I believe Pratt has the higher defensive ceiling.
  8. Let this sink in: This was clearly one of Miz’s worst outings of the season and he gave us 6 innings struck out 8 and gave up 1 run.
  9. To me he has been exactly as advertised. Light hitting but can get on base a little bit and has wheels. His real value is in his defense, where he is just as good if not better than Ortiz.
  10. I definitely can’t fault Vaughn. He ripped a pitch and did nothing wrong.
  11. Another RBI with a runner not in scoring position. Maybe we should start stealing 1st from 2nd after doubles.
  12. Mitchell !!! (It still doesn’t break our RISP streak, though) 🤣
  13. Even if it got through, Nico was in the area and it would have been a double play the traditional way.
  14. A hit with runners in scoring position, please.
  15. I hate having no challenges and just having to trust MLB umpires to make the correct calls with no way to keep them honest.
  16. I really don’t want to see Miz throw 107 pitches again until October.
  17. lol, thanks Contreras. thanks for your absolute stupidity. He’d be out of it.
  18. First challenge, Contreras passed on challenging an obvious strike called a ball only to challenge a ball on the very next pitch. Second challenge, he challenges an obvious ball only to not be able to challenge an obvious strike on the next pitch because he pissed away both challenges. You cannot make this stuff up,
  19. Unbelievable. What is it, 1 for our last 40? It is COLIN REA, guys.
  20. Knew as soon as Hamilton got to 3rd with 2 strikes on Christian it would be a wild hack for smelly Yeli.
  21. I’m really glad Hamilton got a hit because I was pulling my hair out at yet ANOTHER no challenge on an obvious challenge.
  22. I’m just blown away how bad we continue to be at challenging. Contreras misses an obvious strike 3 to PCA only to waste a challenge unsuccessfully on the very next pitch,
