    We are proud of our regular seasons and so long as we keep winning the division we aren’t going to do anything to rock the boat. It'll be another underwhelming deadline of watching us largely stand pat while our rivals plug holes.

    That was up and out of the zone for Ball 3. With the bases loaded and a walk driving in a run, I would have liked to see Contreras be a little more selective than that on a 2-0 count.

    Should be able to exceed that this year. Although I imagine the focus against Turkey will be rest and health moreso than points.

    Maybe Lara just set the bar too high in April and May, but he has really been going through it in June.

    He’s the gold standard for that too, but if we’re going to be fair and impartial (and I can’t stand the guy too), yeah. His defense alone is worth about 2 wins a year. Essentially prime Mike Cameron.

    It’s a good reminder though, that even the best of the best defenders have their “ugh, what was THAT?” moments. PCA is pretty much the gold standard for outfield defense and he’s had several moments just against the Brewers this year that were pure comedy.

    Well, going 1 for 12 with runners in scoring position did not help. They had 15 baserunners today. The opportunities were there.

    I’d like to think that the Brewer fanbase has evolved to a point where we have a pretty good understanding of why guys that most fans have never heard of are getting long-term contracts while the guys they know about aren’t. I don’t really know, though, how many fans still consist of mostly casuals who are just there for the big names.
