  1. Don’t care how good his stuff is. If Miz continues to be this prone to losing his command, he isn’t going to have success in this league.
  2. Well, they still have a 6 game lead, which is the biggest factor. But you’ve still got to earn it. These last few games aren’t a big deal, but they can’t afford a Mets type run.
  3. They are up 6 on Philly, 7 on the Cubs and 7.5 on the Dodgers. If they lose 6 games to Philly and 7.5 games to L.A before the end of the season than they probably blew the division too.
  4. Suddenly lost 3 of our last 4. No reason to be alarmed yet, but don’t let it snowball. Gotta get right tomorrow or Thursday.
  5. Losing 4 in a row to the them plus the tiebreaker and leaving Chicago up 5 would not be good. They have the schedule to overcome a 5 game lead. Not to mention the momentum. We need to get 1-2 more games this series. As of tonight, we will be losing the season series to the Cubs.
  6. We won’t have to pitch the bottom of the 9th barring a comeback. So the silver lining is Megill and Mears should be rested and available for both Game 4 and 5. Koenig too and probably Hall and Uribe. Anyway, we need to start scoring runs again.
  7. Well, we will see if they can make it interesting in the 8th and if not, time to check out. Disappointing day.
  8. It’s a smack in the mouth from baseball today to remind us that it’s not just going to be easy.
  9. That was a really good AB by Joey on some tough pitches. He can be brilliant at times and befuddling on others. Ok, and now he’s hurt.
  10. My frustration is they had the Cubs on the ropes for the division, the Cubs absolutely needed the sweep today and it looks like they’re going to get it. It was a 7 game division lead versus 11 swing today. It’s huge. 7 games isn’t insurmountable. We were down 5.5 in September to the Cubs a few years ago and came back for it.
  11. Makes me think of a left handed Freddy Peralta. So fun to watch when he’s on, and horrible to watch when he isn’t.
  12. Everyone was cocksure that we were going to win tonight after dropping the afternoon game. “Well, of course we lost, it was our worst starter against their best!” Turns out it’s baseball, and just because we had Woodruff vs Taillon tonight didn’t guarantee anything.
