  1. Unless we’re talking about other pitches, that 3-2 pitch to Brice was strike 3. Can’t complain about that one. Super close, but not a bad call.
  2. Not sure why he was itching to do that when he just watched the 3 previous guys reach on BBs.
  3. That was painful to watch. I will take the end result, however. But make no mistake, Caissie bailed him out in a huge way.
  4. Jansen hasn’t brought much to the table since the trade. Can’t complain much about that contact, though.
  5. just some perspective that even after the loss yesterday, the reactions here really weren’t that bad or over the top.
  6. All in all, though disappointing, this is not a game that we would remember in a month if it weren't the loss that snapped the streak. The vast majority of pen arms got much needed rest today. Need some good starter outings this week.
  7. This upcoming series is kind of Chicago’s last stand to make this a division race. They need a sweep, or at least 4 out of 5. Anything less will not swing things much in their favor.
  8. Yeah. I wanted to stick with Tobias, but I acknowledge a move like that is probably so on the margins that it’s just really hard to get worked up about. Just one of those things that won’t look good for you if it doesn’t work out, and you’ll look like a genius if it does.
  9. Yeah I really don’t think it’s that big of a deal. No one is that upset. This is just literally like a postgame show of any sports game on the board. The game is going to be discussed.
  10. I think bunting is overrated and not an enormous part of our success this year, but I digress. Most bunt/don’t bunt decision are pretty 50/50 so I’m not going to put up a huge stink about it. I’ll agree that I don’t think playing for 1 run in extras on the road is the right call, unless you’re planning to throw Urine or Megill in the bottom half . Anyway, pretty much just need to not have a disaster series in Chicago. Three or more would be good, two is not a disaster.
  11. Fun ride. I’m sure Turang is going to kick himself tonight. Bummed that the 9th inning heroics didn’t end up subsequently mattering, but it was bound to happen eventually.
  12. You can be the best manager in the game, which he probably is, and that doesn’t mean individual decisions can’t be questioned and/or second guessed. Being good doesn’t mean being perfect.
  13. I was totally at peace with having the streak snapped losing 1-0. Now between wasting the heroics of Contreras, a terrible error by Turang, a dumb decision to pull Tobias and a questionable bunt decision/bad bunt by Perkins, they’ve managed to make it annoying and burn more of the pen.
  14. I was mentally asking myself if it would just be better to lose it here even if I don’t obviously want that.
  15. Whatever that clutch closing gene thing is — Grant Anderson does not have it.
  16. Meh. Not the most routine grounder, but a play he and any other IF should make.
