  1. Yeah Lockridge didn’t do much there other than look silly. You have to wonder if they’d be giving high fives right now if Perkins was in for D.
  2. Hopefully it will be a moot point. But, man, can’t do that with a guy on 3rd. That pitch wasn’t close.
  3. Ump didn’t want to call that 0-1 pitch a strike and then realized “aww hell, I have to.”
  4. So? He’s well rested except for last night. If you’re not going to use your closer in a 1 run game, what exactly are you saving him for? What about tomorrow? We could have the next 4 games decided by 5 runs or more for all we know.
  5. Yeah, nah, we’re going to need Megill for that 9th, barring an offensive outburst in the bottom of the 8th.
  6. Been a lot of bad calls tonight, but that wasn’t one of them. Can’t take that pitch with 2 outs with 2nd and 3rd and 2 strikes.
  7. I hear this a lot and I don’t understand it. Consistently wrong is still wrong. No one would accept a line judge in tennis who consistently gave a little over the line or was tight on the line, as long as he was consistent with both sides. I’d rather them just get the calls right because if they’re getting them wrong, chances are that they’re not going to be consistent about it either. They have the technology to get them right.
  8. Unfortunately when you have a poor umpire, as most are these days, who continues to call the strike zone incorrectly, the pitcher can keep working the part of the zone that’s being called wrong, and Vaughn is forced to keep chasing it, resulting in ABs like that. Robots.
  9. Lockridge would have grounded into a double play to end the inning anyway… if you’re a believer that his bat result would have been the same.
  10. Wilmer Flores is still around? He’s made quite the little mediocre career for himself. I don’t think we missed out on a ton.
  11. Really frustrating last week of offense with plenty of traffic and very little substance to show for it.
  12. Well that inning was fun for like 10 minutes and then went from 60 to 0 in about 30 seconds.
  13. By pretty much every measurement, Jansen is as good or better than Haase. I like Haase as well as the next guy but he went unclaimed by every single MLB team when he was DFAed. In addition to that, having Jansen allows us to keep Haase in AAA for depth and injury protection.
