  1. I don’t worship Vaughn. I’ve said numerous times that he’s given us a lot of special and memorable moments over a fun summer but there’s a lot of reason to doubt if he’s the long-term guy at 1st. Same as Rowdy Tellez did.
  2. Yeah that one RBI single totally flips the argument of his entire career on its head.
  3. lol. I’m happy for him. Really. That must feel good.
  4. And the 1 run only came because of an error.
  5. The reason Bauers gets his fair share of grief is that most players in this lineup are good players who are going through a rough stretch. Bauers is not a good player, has never been a good player, and yet continues to receive a large share of playing time. That’s the difference. Will I be frustrated if Hoskins goes 0 for 4 with 2 K’s in his first game back? Of course, but I’ll at least understand that he has had success in the big leagues and playing him is an understandable thing.
  6. 0 for our last 18 with runners in scoring position. Absolutely freaking dreadful.
  7. Nothing about seeing Bauers play regularly should make anyone feel better about our chances.
  8. Quinn looks terrible and it couldn’t come at a worse time. Just an awful pitch to Pham.
  9. Not impressed with Priester so far today.
  10. That was an ugly AB by Bauers, but at least he was batting left-handed while he did it.
  11. So after an 0 for 10 day with RISP we are already 0 for 4 after 1 literal half inning. That is hard to do.
  12. We all would. It wouldn’t change the fact that he’s been a career below replacement level player for his entire career and continues to be that way as a Brewer.
  13. Cubs continue to face trash cans. If the Nats could even take 1 game in that series, I’d be happy.
  14. Should. I’d also like to point out that 1 versus 2 is pretty inconsequential. Both are home for the WC round which is the important thing. I’d be bummed if Philly catches us but as long as we hold off the Cubs I won’t lose sleep over it. The Dodgers taking themselves pretty much out of the 1 seed discussion lately has been big.
  15. This is a little misleading because the reality was that he didn’t miss 3 to 4 weeks, he recovered very fast and was back in less than 2 weeks on August 7th and came out of the gates destroying the ball. He’s been in the lineup for Nashville nearly every day since then, so I think this being the reason he hasn’t been called up is highly speculative at best.
  16. We do have better options. It’s Jeferson Quero, He’s one of our top prospects, he’s almost 23 and he’s already on the 40 man roster. It makes all the sense in the world. What are we afraid of, that he’ll be worse than Jansen? For the life of me I can’t understand why we are so afraid to make this move.
  17. If they lose their 21 remaining games, they would enter the playoffs at 86-76 and on a 22 game losing streak with a total of 1 win in the month of September. I cannot possibly imagine the train wreck that would have to take place for this to come to fruition but I’m pretty sure at this point that I’d be desperately waiting for it to come to its merciful end and not grabbing a bowl of popcorn and sitting in my favorite chair to watch them in the Wild Card round.
  18. Did anyone else find it a bit silly that Murphy refused to say which reliever is going on the IL tomorrow? Do you need to tell his family first, or are you waiting to make the big reveal on the Pat McAfee show? Good grief, man.
  19. The Dodgers recently slump has basically guaranteed that we will get a bye — if we hold onto the division. The schedule is plenty favorable for doing that, Just playing a couple games above .500 the rest of the way against teams we should beat should pretty much put it out of reach. If we can’t even do that, well… we will have earned whatever happens.
  20. I don’t even know why people are debating Payamps versus Yoho anyway. We scored 0 runs today. Wes Obermueller could have come out of retirement to pitch the 9th and it would have made no difference.
  21. The Wild Card is not the goal with a 5.5 game division lead on September 4th. The Wild Card would represent a pretty massive choke. And I think it would take more than 10 out of 21 losses.
