The reason Bauers gets his fair share of grief is that most players in this lineup are good players who are going through a rough stretch.
Bauers is not a good player, has never been a good player, and yet continues to receive a large share of playing time. That’s the difference.
Will I be frustrated if Hoskins goes 0 for 4 with 2 K’s in his first game back? Of course, but I’ll at least understand that he has had success in the big leagues and playing him is an understandable thing.
