  1. I'm not saying he's perfect, but Devin has that closer "extra gear" that I can't really explain where the great ones have this extra zone when they get in trouble where they can often find just a little more.
  2. Yeah true ....that doesn't really make sense. You don't activate a guy to give him another day.
  3. Sit down, Pham...one of my least likeable guys in baseball.
  4. Really nice outing for Montas. I had pretty much chalked this trade up as a loss but if he can contribute in the playoffs the way he did tonight, not so much. He definitely had me eating some crow tonight. Right now the Brewers rotation kind of reminds me of the Packers WR corps. No #1's...but quite a few guys who can get the job done on any given day.
  5. Radio call on Adames' error.: "You don't see that very often." 🤣 what? You've been seeing it for months now. He's a complete butcher.
  6. Of today's starters: 1) Chourio 2) Ortiz 3) Mitchell 4) Contreras 5) Adames 6) Hoskins 7) Turang 8) Black 9) Frelick Chourio is our best hitter and should get the most ABs. I don't understand why Ortiz can't sniff the top of the order. He has some power, some speed. He hit well all year, got hurt, went into a big slump after returning and is hitting again. I don't care for Mitchell a ton at #3, it was just to sandwich him in between righties, there isn't a great spot from them. After that it's pretty easy. Turang, Black for now, and certainly Frelick belong in spots that get the least ABs.
  7. And Adames makes it gloriously not matter.
  8. Kid can barely crack the MLB roster much this season, but when he does, he hits 3rd. Help me understand.
  9. Yelich's career has paralleled Braun's in a whole lot of ways. MVP level player that fell off some, huge extension that he didn't really live up to but that wasn't as much of a disaster as it is often thought, but really struggled with injuries in his 30s, especially with his back.
  10. Brewer fans: "This is the best day ever!" Yeli logging into his social media accounts: "LOL, not so fast"
  11. Obviously, these last 24 hours may be the biggest wins of the season so far. Not just for staying in the race for a top seed, but for the enormous confidence that was needed to start belonging with these guys. Still some things to work on for sure, but maybe that's confidence boosting in itself to know we won these last two despite quite a few things we can clean up.
  12. Take your walk, Brice. Or just swing at a pitch 10 inches high. Whatever you want to do.
  13. I don't advocate bunting often but you might as well have had Frelick do it in that AB because he certainly isn't going to give you anything else.
  14. Sometimes I think Murphy decides how late he'll let Tobias work in a game with a magic 8 ball. One day he'll be cruising at 71 pitches in a close game and be pulled. A couple weeks later he'll be having a harder time and sent back out for another inning with his pitch count in the 80s.
  15. Think Chourio was just a little too anxious that AB to get it done.
  16. Frelick is just way too limited offensively for me to get excited about. Mitchell at least shows some flashes and upside there.
  17. He's had better outings, but if he had even remotely competent defense behind him today he'd be through 5 innings with 1 run allowed and be in line for the W.
  18. I don't know if that's more amazing or if it's more amazing that the Angels had him for 6 years and always still managed to completely suck.
  19. When you're playing a team like the Dodgers you can't afford shaky defense. Tobias deserved better results than what his defense behind him gave him in the 2nd.
  20. Hmm, I could be wrong but I don't remember seeing anyone saying he shouldn't be the closer again at all, just that maybe he should be eased back into it and not necessarily thrown right back into the role. Megill has been pretty good this year.
  21. Tonight was a microism of what it takes for us to beat the Dodgers. Things need to go right. But we need it to happen 4 times out of 7.
  22. Lol smart by Devin to go back to the same spot that was called a strike off the plate for Strike 2.
  23. Well, hopefully we don't need any insurance, because there sure wasn't much effort to add any.
  24. Man, I really do want Black to be good. We could use it. But he is just lost at the plate.
