    Civale has not been good tonight, but he's been awfully lucky. Very fortunate to get out of that inning with a 4 run lead.

    I think it's unlikely that Mears will be DFA'ed this year. However, I would expect him to have to earn a bullpen spot next year and not be a lock.

    The A's look much more like a team 18 games under .500 than a team with the 4th best record in baseball since the beginning of July.

    If he doesn't perform, which he hasn't, they won't have much of a choice. I don't think they gave up anything that they'd be too stubborn to just cut their losses on.

    A few isolated nice moments aside, I think the Brewers were hoping for more than a .217 one trick pony when they signed Rhys.

    Careful what you wish for, last time we saw those guys they swept us with a worse team than they have now.

    Yeah, I'm not sweating the division. We got this. But I kind of had a fleeting hope that maybe, maybe we could compete for a top 2 seed. In the end I just don't think we'll be able to hang with Philly or L.A.
