After a long play with a running clock and no timeouts, what's to stop the 2 closest guys from snapping the ball, spiking it, while everyone else on the field just freezes in place? Just a 5 yard penalty with no runoff.

This is exactly the kind of time in the game when I was terrified that Alexander would get an unsportsmanlike penalty and the Texans would end up with a TD drive.
I love that Reed was a good sport when he fair caught that punt and the crowd cheered like "Hey, right! I did a good job!" At least that was how I read it.
Why do we even have punt returners at all? We'd be better off in this game if all 11 members on special teams immediately ran toward the sidelines as soon as they saw the punt made.
