  1. Did Ortiz touch all the bases?
  2. That's damn near a tie. I don't know if we would have won but that was worth a look this late in the game.
  3. Lol. Contreras threw it to 3rd before the umpire even made the call.
  4. I think the Miller Lite commercial with the guy shrieking "it is both!" has probably run its course.
  5. How does Joey Ortiz have as many years of professional baseball under his belt as he does and not be aware that he can't move to go back to 1st and then go to 3rd without retouching 2nd? Like, how?
  6. Lol. Great baserunning, Ortiz. It's crap like that. Cannot get out of our own way.
  7. Probably out, but it wouldn't be called that way if it were us. It hurts that the angle on the feet were nearly identical and Freeman's went down first.
  8. I don't hear much Ohtani gambling chatter lately. As someone who probably isn't informed about it enough to form an educated opinion, I'm genuinely curious as to whether he should be banned for life and MLB wants to sweep it under the rug because he's a big star for them, or if he really knew nothing so it isn't like Pete Rose.
  9. I'm not saying it's a must win, but we need to find a way to win this. We need a shot of confidence against these guys. Something.
  10. I feel like every time we have a player suck against the Dodgers there's a common theme of "well, it's the Dodgers, they're really good." Can we not expect our players to do well against good teams? Certainly would hope we have a couple people on the team in October that can perform well against the Dodgers.
  11. Plenty of people here were going out of their way to tell us this wasn't a bad deal at all. I wonder if they still feel the same way.
  12. Like, how do you even get excited for the playoffs after getting exposed this badly by an actual contender?
  13. Someone will need to explain to me again how this trash can was even worth a waiver claim, much less giving up 2 pieces for.
  14. It's not that I disagree with him. I just don't know if it's a great thing to come out and say in a winning culture.
  15. “These guys have overachieved all year and I’m not going to get down on them, that’s for sure,” Murphy said. Sheesh, I'm not saying he's wrong, but seems like we're already setting the table for our "we accomplished a lot this season winning our division and we were just happy to be here" speech after our first round gentleman's sweep exit.
  16. Hmm. He didn't walk anybody. That's all I've got.
  17. Unfortunately this is all too true. We've done the best we can with the resources we have. You do scouting a and you do a pitchers' lab and you do analytics and you play moneyball and put yourself in the best possible position you can...only for 90% of the time, reality to hit you in the face and say, "Hey, guess what? None of that matters, because we have way more money and resources than you. Sucks to be you!"
  18. It isn't getting our rear ends handed to us one particular night that bothers me. It's the fact that we've proven over and over again this season that we simply can't beat the Dodgers or Phillies.
  19. I mean records what they are, it's clear this team stands no shot against the Dodgers in a 7 game series.
  20. Turang has just tanked for the last couple months. He looks much more like last year's Brice than the Brice from the first couple months of the season.
  21. I want to think we can compete in a 7 game series against the two big boys in this league. I just don't see how.
  22. Frelick reminds me of Tony Gwynn. Junior, unfortunately.
  23. Nothing like a reminder of how much of a pumpkin we look like against the Phillies and Dodgers to take the joy out of the recent hot streak.
  24. Cardinals were off today? I've never heard of a regular baseball day off on a Sunday. Weird.
