  1. Quay Walker is an absolute liability on defense. They've got to take a long hard look at him during the bye week, do the right thing and send him to the bench coming out of the bye.
  2. Winning the division looks highly unlikely after today. I think we'd have to sweep the rest of our division games.
  3. We'll probably lose this game 24-21 on a last second FG and the Packer faithful on Facebook will be saying "Garshh!! If it weren't for 3 missed field goals this year we'd be undefeated!"
  4. The Packers still are in position to do some things this year, but much like they did last year left, they need to get a lot better and a lot healthier before the end of the season. Being down 4 scores and 3 scores at home in your only divisional games is not a good look.
  5. I don't want to hear any excuses about the conditions for all the drops today. The Lions' pass catchers caught the ball just fine all day.
  6. That's your creativity coming out of a timeout that you burned when you really couldn't afford to burn one with the clock stopped? I'm embarrassed for you, Matt.
  7. Wicks is a player that you essentially need to go up and place the ball in his hands to avoid him dropping it.
  8. Operating way, way too slow on offense for a team down 18 points in the 4th quarter.
  9. By that logic, I'd guess 90% of NFL games could be considered competitive around halftime. Yes, the Lions did one very idiotic thing (well, 2 by the same guy) this game. We've done about 10. It is part of the difference between the two teams. Yes, we coulda shoulda woulda drove down and maybe gotten a field goal and not thrown the pick. We didn't. The Lions made a play, and we didn't. Even if it hadn't happened, it'd still be 17-6 right now with the Lions having the ball right now. I don't know why you are dying on this hill that we're on their level and have competed with them today when that clearly isn't the case. It doesn't mean that we can't get there. But right now, as of today? It's not close.
  10. Oh yes, let's punt on 4th and 3 down 21. That'll give us life.
  11. I mean, the fact that the Lions lost one of their best defenders for the game and then started absolutely smacking us in the mouth is pretty damning evidence of how much better they are than us. At least right now. I'm not happy about it. But it's clear that we have a long ways to go.
  12. Aside from robbing valuable game reps from a more deserving LB, is there anything that Quay Walker does well?
  13. You can't just gauge two teams by total yardage and turnovers and use that as a measuring stick. The undisciplined things that we've done today are part of our team identity. That's part of the equation. The horrible penalties, the flipping of field position, bad plays on 3rd and 4th down, the awful-timed mistakes. It's all part of our identity, and aside from Branch, the Lions have played disciplined, smart football. It's what separates good teams from great teams. Just because the game score was 10-3 before halftime with similar yardage totals doesn't mean that there isn't a wide gap between the teams.
  14. Curious, is any offensive player on the Packers aware of when it's important to get out of bounds/stay in bounds? Is it something that they actually have conversations about in meetings?
  15. Looks like we one more piece of stupid to get out of our system before halftime with Brooks not getting out of bounds, otherwise that's 3 points.
  16. Anyone tell Brooks that we only have 1 timeout and he has to get out of bounds? Nah?
  17. So much for Goff having trouble today finally playing outdoors. Very discouraging game. We aren't in Detroit's league at the moment.
  18. Meh, 7 points is a pretty big deficit in a game like this, especially when you're starting on defense to enter the 3rd quarter. They're not dead in the water, but it's going to be an uphill climb. Detroit is moving the ball, too.
  19. I don't have a lot have a lot of confidence in doing anything here, but it would sure be helpful to put a small drive together and make it 10-6 before halftime.
  20. Bout to be 14-3 at half with the Lions getting the ball to start the 3rd and the rout on. No one to blame but ourselves for this score.
  21. Quay Walker just sort of wandering around in space, as usual.
  22. We're moving the ball today. We have 3 points because we're making key mistakes in key times and being very undisciplined. This game is very winnable with a smart football team. We are not a smart football team.
