Not that there is anything wrong with this comment but I often wonder if any pitcher gives a crap about their W/L record anymore. It’s so antiquated I’m surprised they even still track it as an official stat, except I guess for the purposes of tradition and a fun talking point for the likes of guys like Peralta and Skenes.

I kind of see Melvin’s point a little, it’s a little unbalanced, our rosters from 26-40 were not the same as a team like the Dodgers with tremendous resources and depth, it really kind of changed the whole playing field in September compared to April-August baseball. Nonetheless, 28 is too restrictive.

40 was too many. 28 is not enough. I don’t know why they went from one extreme to the other. I miss being able to see some young players get their feet wet in September, most contenders just don’t have that luxury anymore with the 28 limit. I’d like to see 30-32.

Huge spots in the 8th and 9th. Both getting Marte to strand the go-ahead runs in the 8th, and getting out of the leadoff single+misplay by Sal to put the lead runner at 2nd to start the 9th, were crucial to both getting out of here with a win and not burning more of the pen.

I’m not known as Mr. Positivity around here and I often come to the defense of GTs being a sacred ground where a lot of different ranges of instant emotional reactions should be expected and welcomed, and I thought some of the reactions tonight were wayyyy over the top. I'm not convinced that some of the newer posters aren’t just other teams’ fans trolling, however.

Frelick has had a 9th to forget.

Someone in the heart of the Brewer lineup needs to step up and walk this thing off in this inning. The last thing this pitching staff can afford right now is a 12 inning marathon.

That was not the offensive output that we needed in the 8th.

Right, but 34 pitches, especially when he’s been hit hard, is too long to leave him hanging.

That was a really, really good job by Miller with a really, really tough hitter and the game probably on the line.

That last one is on Murphy. I know he got the 2 K’s, but just stuck with Koenig way, way too long.

Koenig serving up meatballs is not what we needed tonight.

He had a productive, but pretty rough night, kind of the opposite of his usual “tough luck” nights. Couple bad K’s and a 2 RBI “double” that should have been a flyout.

They almost certainly will, especially since Uribe closed last night. Been a rough stretch for Megill but he was a rock for most of the year and they’re going to continue to trust him to get right for now.

Not being able to feel great about a 5 run lead with 9 outs to play is problematic.

It’s been nice to get the bats going again, but this pitching staff as a whole is really starting to show the wear and tear of a long season.
