  1. The Packers defense is better at defense than the Packers offense is at offense, and that is not a compliment.
  2. Don't worry guys, Joe Barry is exploring every option and leaving no stone unturned in his quest to find out the problem with our defense.
  3. This defense literally could not stop Miami a few weeks ago and they make our offense look about as lame and unoriginal as can be.
  4. The 2024 QB class is going to have 3 studs. If we're in position to get one, we should go for it because it would clearly mean things didn't go well at all this year. I know people aren't crazy about the idea of giving up on Love after one season, but the honest truth of the matter is that if we were 100% confident that he was the guy, we would have just picked up the 5th year option instead of the 2 year deal that we can easily bail out of after 1.
  5. Huge bailout penalty on the hold.
  6. Line is even. Are we really that bad that we aren't even favored to beat the freaking Broncos?
  7. Is it just me or did the play clock operator go out of his way the last 5 minutes of the game to try to fudge things to Illinois' advantage from time to time?
  8. I think you left them more time than you needed to....but...*should* be good.
  9. See I don't understand why they got away from the ground game on this drive. They were gashing them. Plenty of time. 3 timeouts. Now you're in a 3rd and 10 hole.
  10. Two things we learned today: 1) The B10 West is still atrocious. 2) We aren't even the best team in it.
  11. Tough to get much going offensively when you're starting every drive inside your own 10.
  12. Can the Packers draft this Iowa punter? He is insane.
  13. If you're going to call the timeouts to get the ball back which you should, don't wait 5 damn seconds to call it.
  14. Boy that was a terrible 1st half offensive performance.
  15. I mean if you're going to let him rehab with us in '24 you may as well take a shot with a club option in '25. Otherwise you're just giving away free money next year with no incentive.
  16. Is there anyone else that just kind of would rather embrace a 2 year rebuild at this point? Get something for Burnes while you still can. Be patient with your young OFers. Maybe shop Yelich around to a contender if he's willing to waive his NTC. They've got a pretty decent foundation in place in the farm especially if they can add a little more to it if they just be a little patient.
  17. Here's the cold reality if you don't trust Woodruff to ever be effective again: You either make some pretty significant additions via FA/trade and maybe push the payroll to 140-150M and keep Burnes and try to really make a run next year, or you embrace a rebuild. I'd be happy with either of those things. But not a "run it back" approach.
  18. I mean they can try, I just don't know if he'd accept and if he doesn't, I don't know what the point would be of retaining him. Maybe you could offer him $12M next season with team options of $15M in 2025 and $20M in 2026 with buyouts of $3M and $5M to give us some incentive to keep him around and buy him at least 15-20M in guarantees if things don't work out.
  19. You're not DFAing him, you're just not offering him arbitration and making him a FA. Which he is going to be after next year anyway. So the alternative is literally just to pay him to do nothing next year and then become a free agent anyway. I don't know how that's better given our already limited resources.
  20. https://www.acmepackingcompany.com/2023/10/10/23911193/green-bay-packers-jordan-love-is-struggling-week-5-las-vegas-raiders?fbclid=IwAR0qYwHUOXnxS6BxpY4TVhYUd06RTxQsGdVuOs-gia1SRy0aNGcjJ6nacpo
  21. Why can't we ever be the weird 85-90ish win team that gets hot out of nowhere in October and suddenly can't lose?
  22. I didn't say Love looks bad since Week 1. I said as an entire team we seem to be regressing, not improving, since Week 1 which is the opposite of what you'd like to see from a young team. But, I wouldn't attribute all of Love's struggles to the offensive line. Monday was by far Love's worst game as a pro. I wouldn't say the offensive line was "good" by any means in Las Vegas but they were far better than they were in Detroit.
  23. I think a lot of us probably had unrealistic expectations and hopes for both the 2023 Packers and Jordan Love's trajectory after Week 1. With that said, the main thing you look for in a young team is steady, if not linear improvement. So it's a bit concerning to see us basically regress week to week from every week since Week 1. That feels like coaching.
  24. Of course. But I don't think most teams start a rookie QB with the expectation of winning a Super Bowl that year. There's usually some growing pains, and in some rarer cases, it's surprisingly rather seamless. But really, you're getting them those in-game reps that they need to get better. Wouldn't you say that, developmentally, a QB in general is going to benefit more from a season or two of live game reps, even if they struggle at first, as opposed to sitting on the sidelines for those years and only learning in practice?
  25. Yeah, I'd agree with that. Stroud looks really good. Purdy looks amazing. Richardson looks like the real deal, he just can't stay healthy. I don't know why there's this perception that NFL quarterbacks need a huge learning curve and a long time to know if they're any good when clearly some indeed are good right away.
