  1. Yep, mine too. Here's a way I look at it that has helped me feel better about that process: The Packers organization has a QB school, a system that they believe in, which has proven to be successful, where they believe they can turn the right QB, the right fit, into a franchise QB. But they can't do it overnight, it takes time, development, sometimes years. So rather than hoping to just get lucky with one of the rare rookie QBs who can have success right out of the gate (it's really hard to find those guys when you're usually picking in the 20s), they're willing to build around those development guys, trusting their process. They're willing to sacrifice those rookie QB contracts as long as they get the right guy because they know that having the right guy at that position, even at market value, is more important than anything in this league to having consistent success.
  2. I can deal with the 3 run first but giving up that extra 2 runs on a routine grounder with 2 outs really burns now. 3-2 would look a lot different than 5-2.
  3. Sure hope that's an extension of his existing year remaining and not a replacement of it.
  4. It's not easy to give up 2 runs on a routine grounder to short, but clearly we're up for the task tonight.
  5. Crazy, that's exactly what I've been hearing too.
  6. *sigh* Freddy is either pitching a shutout or walking the leadoff man and getting shelled in the 1st. Not much in between.
  7. HighHeat dropping in with any updates?
  8. Good Payamps it is! Great series win!
  9. Those last two ABs back to back by Hoskins and Adames were like deja vu from the last time they both came up. Just horrendous. Thanks goodness Contreras came through...please good Payamps today.
  10. If Yelich is indeed out for the year, you almost have to add a decent bat before the deadline.
  11. Can't decide whether Wiemer or Mitchell has been the more disappointing OF prospect. Frelick at least shows occasional flashes.
  12. There's nothing he does particularly well. He's just been a bad acquisition.
  13. Can some baseball historian confirm that this was the stretch of winning 4 out of 5 games that least felt like winning 4 out of 5 games in MLB history?
  14. The amount of bunting tonight. .did Ron Roenicke take over this team again?
  15. This homeplate umpire is a straight up garbage can. No team should have to try to protect a 1-0 late lead with a randomly oscillating strike zone.
  16. Holy cow Brice came through. With 2 strikes. At the most needed time. Did he ever need that.
  17. I know it was a bad call, but for God's sake, know the damn situation. You have 2 strikes, all you need to do is put the ball in play. Mitchell sucks.
  18. I think you're probably right. Either way, he's a professional and he needs to know better. Could have tried that anytime and you pick the most hitter of hitters counts to do it?
  19. The Brewers deserved that result. I can't stress enough how poor of a strategy it is to lay down a bunt on a 3-0 count.
  20. Bunting on a 3-0 count? Seriously?
  21. They could have literally driven to Milwaukee and completed half the game by now.
  22. The Cardinals made 10 games up on us just two years ago just after August 1st. We went into the trade deadline 3 games up and ended up losing the division by 7 games. Far too much season left to suggest the Pirates are too far down to catch up.
  23. A hanger right down the middle and Yelich just whiffs. There's absolutely nothing special about anything the Cubs are doing tonight. This is all us.
  24. Everyone out there for the Brewers trying to hit a 3 run solo HR.
  25. Can we spend the rest of the evening looking like a professional baseball team, please? There's still time.
