  1. Great call, Pat. Pushing some amazing buttons this inning.
  2. That will always be Matt Garza. Man could fire a routine comebacker into the 8th row behind 1st base.
  3. Caught a break there. That wasn't indisputable from any angle we saw.
  4. If you want to win MLB games, these are plays that need to be made.
  5. Shouldn't be a triple. Tougher plays have been called errors. I know it would have been a nice play ....but once he got under it and got the glove on it, he's got to complete that play.
  6. Give that girl free tickets to every game.
  7. Unfortunately there's an excellent chance of killing a leadoff baserunner when your #3 hitter is Sal Frelick.
  8. Smooth move, Mitchell. Could have waited one more pitch and just walked over there.
  9. I don't know. We don't have a single player on the active roster (besides Haase with an extremely small sample size) who cracks an .800 OPS.
  10. Bill and Brian, these low strikes are indeed strikes. They're not even really close to being balls. The Brewers don't need to *adjust* to anything. They will need to swing at strikes as always.
  11. At least Mitchell can hit. Oh, wait.
  12. It's the textbook "high K high BB high ERA but goof peripherals live arm" reliever.
  13. They typically dabble in rentals quite a bit because they tend to be so low cost compared to controllable players. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a rental bat or reliever added.
  14. Not for nothing but the Cardinals blew it tonight, so the division lead actually stays at 6, not 5 like I quoted.
  15. From everything that has been reported in the last couple days he's holding off on surgery until the offseason to (presumably) finish out late this year.
  16. I don't usually have the rosiest of outlooks but I don't think you can do this, not just on the logic but on the kind of message it sends to your fanbase. Yeah, they haven't been playing great baseball. Will get Devin back, should get Yelich back and those will be some pretty big additions. I certainly don't think the division is a lock by any stretch but if you had to handicap the current odds they'd definitely be the favorite. Do I think they win an October matchup against the Dodgers or Phillies, no I do not. But as a small market, if you're not going to try to win when you're 5 games up on the rest of your division at the trade deadline, when are you going to try to win?
  17. What kind of evil happened to Joey Ortiz when he went on the IL? He's a completely different player since he came off it than he was before. Like, completely different.
  18. "Junk" apparently refers to his "ability to check on a runner".
  19. I know that. I've never seen an instance, ever, when an MLB manager without a challenge who just came out and asked them to look at it again anyway, didn't have it granted.
  20. So Murphy didn't come out and ask the homeplate umpire to look at the play why exactly?
