  1. How does a soft groundout to 3rd suit you?
  2. Yeah, for the most part, the guys we expected to hit have hit, and the guys we expected to not hit have not hit. With the exception that Frelick has hit worse than expected and Sanchez has hit better than expected. It’s not that everyone is just underperforming.
  3. I understand that the team isn’t at full strength and therefore some of the lineup issues are really circumstantial. What I can’t stand is compounding the problem with dumb decisions like bunting with 2 strikes.
  4. Honest question for those who follow our prospects more than me: is there reasonable optimism that Pratt will further develop with the bat? I understand we’re a run prevention team, but right now, it looks like he can’t hit a lick. I want to love this deal, so I’m just really kind of hoping there’s room for growth there?
  5. Bunting with 2 strikes. With Joey Ortiz on deck. Do better.
  6. Still too tough of a matchup for Ortiz.
  7. 13-9 gets you last place in this division ? Annoying.
  8. I’m at the same spot. All I know is that the final was 12-4.
  9. My wife at the time was in love with Carlos Gomez, so she hated Hector with a fiery passion. Called him “imposter” Gomez.
  10. We do have an MLB shortstop, but there is a reason he’s been riding the bench, because he can only do half his job.
  11. Ah, well this one escalated quickly, in a good way.
  12. Pitching around Perkins to get to Turang is a bold strategy.
  13. He is hitting equally as bad as Ortiz against AAA pitching.
  14. Really nice work by Harrison to buckle down.
  15. I would love to say he’ll come around but his last couple months of 2025 were pretty horrific as well. He might just suck now.
  16. Both of which are way higher than Blake Perkins.
  17. I assume they are transparent ahead of time on things like this. “Hey, we’re calling you up to make your MLB debut. Just so you know, it’s a 1 day thing no matter what happens.” I imagine they’d still be pretty excited and if anything maybe it takes a bit of pressure off.
  18. One thing we can only speculate on though. Maybe we don’t lose to the Mets in the playoffs 2-1 if Burnes is on the roster.
  19. It was the 30th overall selection in 2025 versus the 34th overall selection in 2024. It would be hard to be more of a wash than that. Additionally the prospect that the Orioles got with the Burnes QO was actually Caden Bodine who has subsequently been traded to the Rays and is their #12 prospect.
  20. The Burnes trade really just has to be viewed as Burnes for Ortiz+Hall. The comp pick would have been obtained by letting Burnes play out the last year and offering QO, which we obviously would have. That part is a wash.
  21. Blake Perkins turning into a pumpkin hurt us more than people realize. We used to at least have a pretty reliable 4th OFer when we took injuries to the outfield. Without good Perk, we’ve been having to dig to the deep, deep options and it’s not pretty. Jett has been hitting better lately in Nashville and it’s possible he gets a call sooner rather than later. Aside from that, it’s going to be a lot of hoping that the status quo can hang in there until late May and at least have us within striking distance of 1st at that time.
  22. Nice to see Rodriguez pitch well. Overall, though it was disappointing not to finish the sweep, we’ve had worse games. Hard to expect more than 3 with the lineup we put out today. Just really the one bad inning in the 1st and that was the difference.
  23. The downfall of Perk the last 9 months is just odd. He was never a world beater, but his profile of defense, speed, switch hitter who could swing a bit, made him a perfect 4th outfielder. Around last August it seems like a switch flipped beyond just a slump and he’s been unplayable since then.
  24. One thing you can say about Miz, he’s always got a chance to work out of any danger. We need to get some offense going.
  25. We just seem to start out too many innings with walks.
