  1. link Estrada was a 6th-round pick of the Nationals in 2005 and was in their organization until the Brewers claimed him. MLB/MiLB stats. The claim was on the recommendation of Nashville pitching coach Rich Gale. I still think Dillard can be a middle relief guy. One of my favorites for some reason. McCalvy has Gord Ash on Dillard: Estrada's only got 20 innings in the big leagues, but from FanGraphs it looks like he throws a fastball, ~80 mph curve, and change. Fastball sits at about 90 mph. All except one of his MLB appearances was out of the bullpen, whereas he was almost exclusively a starter in the minors. That means his MiLB stats were likely accrued with a high-80s fastball, and yet he managed a decent strikeout rate, so I guess that means his offspeed stuff is solid. Some stuff I found on Estrada: Harry Pavlidis at the Hardball Times a month ago: This is from 2006, Mike Emeigh at Baseball Think Factory on sleeper pitching prospects: Sounds like Ben Hendrickson.

  5. From a New York Times article on the program: "It'll be a revolution in t-shirt marketing; I'm thinking of calling it 'Remetee'."
  6. He hinted at it with the makeup comment, for sure. Continuing the deluge of opinions, here are some Brewers-related snippets from Baseball America's prospects chat: [tt][/tt]
  7. BA reveals three releases: Mark Holliman, Greg Miller, and Jose Romero.
  8. Apparently a commenter on the JS blog broke the Edmonds news last night. Who knew anything good ever came out of that place? I really don't want to have to start reading them all.
  9. So says Ken Rosenthal. Can I still hate him?
  10. Relevant chat snippets: I asked him why he had Heckathorn so high, but he didn't answer. He really loves Starlin Castro, eh?
  11. Law just released his top 100 & organizational top 10's. He's got Lawrie 47th: ...and Escobar 54th: Incidentally, Michael Brantley is 71st. Who here would have Brantley in the Brewers' top three prospects? The rest of Law's Brewers top 10: 3. Eric Arnett, RHP 4. Kyle Heckathorn, RHP 5. Jon Lucroy, C 6. Wily Peralta, RHP 7. Lorenzo Cain, CF 8. Jake Odorizzi, RHP 9. Kentrail Davis, LF 10. Zach Braddock, LHP Strange that he chose to highlight Odorizzi in the Brewers blurb when he's got Heckathorn and Peralta higher.

  14. From Tyler Barnes. Inglett's career Major League and minor league stats. He was claimed from the Rangers but never played for them, having been claimed by them from the Blue Jays in December.

  17. Keith Law has the Brewers system 26th overall (Insider): I have to say, that's a little surprising.
  18. I don't often post from my phone, but I know it's worked in the past; I most recently posted something from my phone about three weeks ago, so I know it was working then. Casey says Yuku pushed code on Friday trying to make some toolbar buttons available to Safari users, and I'm now currently unable to use the full text editor reply box on my iPhone, though the Quick Reply box works fine. The toolbar buttons appear to work (I don't recall how they worked/what was present before now), except that the font name button brings up a window that's too large, mostly hiding the OK button you need to click to close it once you've made your selection. The following toolbar buttons are present, with the rest of the ones you normally see absent: font color, font name, highlight color, bold, italics, underline, left justify, center, and right justify. After that, there are two buttons that aren't present in normal browsers, loopy left and right arrows. Dunno what they do since I can't enter text, but the first time I pressed one it crashed Safari. I can still type in the title box just fine. Is anyone else having this problem? How about people on other mobile platforms? As Casey noted, if you are having a problem with the full text editor but can still use the Quick Reply box, you should be able to use BBCode to do most things.
