  1. Almost always no, but I'd be up for finding creative ways to get a special talent into the lineup. JVB, as mentioned above, or any of the guys this year that were prospects both ways would qualify. Most pitchers though, no.
  2. Good deal, maybe there will be some Canadian pressure on Stosh once Lawrie signs. Check out Stosh's comments on possibly signing in the interview I did with him. I'm optimistic after talking to him.
  3. 18th-rounder Nick Bucci signed.
  4. The Brewers are gonna have three pitchers from Illinois in camp this year, Odorizzi and Adams, as well as Cody Scarpetta. New hotbed of talent!
  5. Lintz, Seth Lintz, who isn't due to sign until Friday officially. 20 in the press release plus Lintz and Luetge makes 22. Wonder who the last guy is.
  6. Yeah, he is bolded. Did you mean to bold Knecht? I saw you had him bolded earlier.
  7. Check two posts above you.
  8. Colby has 21st-rounder Lucas Luetge as signed as well.
  9. Opinions on Brad Schreiber, Phil's brother?
  10. Well, in the low minors, it's not really long relief; he comes in as a reliever and pitches multiple innings, yes, but he's really just the second starter. Bryson's future might definitely be in the bullpen, though.
  11. Yeah, and even Brent Brewer is 2-3 with 2 RBI--his first hits since June 1st!
  12. Eight strikeouts through four innings for Braddock, one run allowed. Four walks though.
  13. I knew I should have looked harder for the '08 Handbook. I couldn't find it, though, so I settled for the 2007 BA Top 10 online, where Tom H predicts Cain will be the 2010 CF. I should trust my memory more, I guess. That, or alphabetize my bookshelf.
  14. From looking around a bit, it appears as if I'm just crazy.
  15. No, I meant Cain. I know Cain is a good defender, but I didn't think he was a center fielder.
  16. I don't see how anyone can view Caleb Gindl as a disappointment. The kid is 19, in full-season ball, and hit .283/.365/.446 in May. He's improved his walk rate from last year and is stealing more bases. As someone else said, he's doing exactly what a 19-year-old in his first full season should do: make incremental gains.
  17. The interviewer seems rather awed by Michael's stardom.
  18. Wow, really? I was wondering what they were going to do with him with all the OF spots at Huntsville taken up.
  19. I'm gonna cast a vote for Steffan Wilson's power in the "good surprise" department.
