  1. Absolutely dumb not to get this procedure done in the off-season. Irresponsible on Braun and the organization's part. Another lost season if he isn't healthy.
  2. Well....it looks like my story has some credence behind it now http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/9574808/lawsuit-ryan-braun-alleges-college-doping-fraud
  3. Ryan Braun is a member of the group of people who are over 2 years old and have lied. Which includes everybody over 2. It doesn't make it right that he lied (assuming that he lied, and not even knowing what he lied about specifically), but let's get the facts before tacking on witty nicknames. We could easily get the facts if Braun does an interview where he actually came completely clean about what he's done vs putting out cryptic vague statements, so long as baseball agrees to not punish him further for any truths he put out there. Only he knows what exactly he's put into his body, when he started doing so, and how long he kept doing it. Unless baseball were to leak every bit of evidence they have on Ryan and maybe anything he admitted to them, how else are we supposed to get the facts/know what he lied about specifically if he doesn't come clean himself? Just vaguely saying he made mistakes tells us nothing except he's guilty of cheating to some degree, but with zero details. His silence will only lead to speculation, regardless if that speculation is fact based. That's simply the world of sports coverage today. Take this story for what it's worth......I'm from a small town in Montana (Glasgow) and a local boy (I'm close to his brother) was drafted in the 15th Round as a Pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays in 2007 (Michael Southern) http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=southe001mic . Anyway.....Southern ended up injuring his shoulder and was rehabing in Tampa during the 2008 season and happened to be rehabbing with one of Braun's College teammates. Braun's former teammate (University of Miami) told Southern that Braun was a notorious juicer in college. Keep in mind this story was told to me in 2008 before any of these allegations came to light. Needless to say, chances are Ryan was, is and probably always will be a juicer. I wasn't surprised one bit when the news broke.
  4. It's quite obvious the guy is a juicer. We are starting to sound like Giants fans defending Barry Bonds for crap sakes. I just hope he doesn't get caught at this point......don't want him suspended.
  5. IS there aby one on this board with knowledge of how a result could be so high. I would assume even if he was using that his test would not be that high. What ralistic explanations are there? Taking horse steroids.....
  6. Cutter Dykstra is an unathletic hack. I watched him two years ago in R+ when he played for Helena. I took one look at this dude playing 2nd Base and thought "WOW......that guy is terrible." Trust me we lose ZERO with this trade.
  7. He spelled "street" wrong in his first sentence.....so I'm hoping that says all that needs to be said about his credibility. I predict Brenly will be gone in 2 years if he's hired.
  8. I truley don't understand why people keep giving Cameron a pass in the NLDS. The play was routine...plain and simple.......he dropped it. He is a solid defender but please take off your Camgogs.
  9. Thank you for finally pointing that out. He just doesn't pass the eye test in the field or the plate. He's just not a good baseball player. You can dress his statistics up anyway you want....he's flat out one of the worst middle infielders in the game. As one Major League scout said this year of Weeks "I don't know what he is.....but he isn't a 2nd baseman".
  10. If I hear "Brenley has an advantage because he announced many Brewer games the last two years" again I'm going to implode. That is so irrelevant it's beyond comprehension. That's like saying I'm qualified to manage this team.
  11. "With two outs in the bottom of the third, Milwaukee third base prospect Taylor Green took a pitch from Cards hurler Tyler Norrick that caught a piece of his helmet and face, causing a minimally displaced fracture of his nose." Does anyone else think the Cardinals front office told that pitcher to drill Green? I wouldn't put it past those dirt bags.
  12. Brenley is horrible.....makes bad baseball decisions continually. I actually do remember him as manager and thinking "this guy is straight bonehead". Seems like everyone is getting glossed over by his "World Series" ring. Oh yeah, by the way, he had probably the two most dominant pitchers of the generation on the mound during that series. If we hire him, you guys will be wishing we had Ned Yost back.
  13. Dale Sveum showed me all I need to see, by pitching Jeff Suppan in the most important game in Brewers franchise history. Enough said really.
  14. I'm being honest here and mean no disrespect..... You know what will alienate me......another year of having to watch this god-awful offensive/defensive team. I will be extremely upset if I have to watch another day of Bill Hall/Rickie Weeks in a Brewers uniform. I'd have no problem with Fielder on this team for a couple more years IF he agreed to come in 30 pounds lighter and made a concerted effort to improve his defense. Melvin should have a heart to heart after the season and see if he's willing to do that. If not....ship him out. This team NEEDS to be blown up if we want to actually contend for a World Series some day and not be content with getting swept in the 1st round of the playoffs. I agree completely with your statement about Centerfield.
  15. I think we: 1. Trade Fielder.....for starting pitching, unless he agrees to come in 30 pounds lighter next year and commits himself to defense in the off-season. 2. DFA or trade Weeks and Hall for a bag of balls. 3. Attempt to move Hardy to 3rd base and bring Escobar up. If Hardy won't move to 3rd or 2nd you trade him and bite the bullet with Gamel at 3rd. 4. Do NOT pick up Mike Cameron's option 5. Attempt to trade for a 1.) lead-ff hitter 2.) Brian Roberts (in my dreams) 6. Let Nelson man the 1 bag for a year if a better option can't be found in FA 7. I'd go after Giambi (2 year deal) to be honest with you (I know....go ahead and laugh). His approach at the plate is exactly what this club needs and his defense is better than Prince.....which says a lot. 8. Play for 2010.....next season is a building year. We need to "clean house" right now!
  16. Can I have some of what you"re taking please.
  17. Has everyone forgotten Ben Sheets career with the Milwaukee Brewers? He has always been injury prone and always will be. We need to trade him now (or later in the year) while his value is at it's peak. We can't afford to be throwing 10's of millions @ injury prone pitchers....period.Looks like I got it right. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. That's exactly why we shouldn't have traded for him. This team is showing it's true colors right now.... I always have and always will hate this trade and it has nothing to do with C.C. It has all to do with the rest of the team.
  19. what's your point? He's horrible. Quit cherry picking and saying he isn't doing that bad......he has the 2nd worst ERA for relief pitchers with 30+ innings pitched. Those stats don't lie....and they aren't cherry picked. He is what he is.....horrid. Plain and simple....end of story.
  20. Good god....when has Gagne been in a good groove? He has the 2nd worst ERA for relief pitchers in the majors with at least 30 innings pitched. He better not see a meaningful inning the rest of the year.
  21. 1. I will be proven correct that the Sabathia trade was STUPID....and the crew doesn't make the playoff's again. 2. Melvin will be fired as a result 3. I drive to Milwaukee and kick Yost in the pills
  22. Would you still be saying that if traded for Sabathia and DIDN"T make the playoffs. Can you imagine how livid our fanbase (I'd be leading the charge) would be if we didn't make the playoffs this year and traded away Laporta or Gamel and they ended up being perenial all-stars? The brewers can't afford to "rent" players. We aren't the Sox or Yankees.....we have to contiunually look to the future or we won't have one. It has been 26 years.....you're right, however, I don't want it to be another 26 years after this year. I will puke on myself if Laporta or Gamel is traded for Sabathia.
  23. One of my buddies was drafted into the D-Rays organization as a pitcher, with the 1st pick in the 15th round. He got something around a $40,000 signing bonus and a minor yearly check. He was a 2nd year JUCO pitcher. I think when you get down to these rounds the people you sign REALLY have to want to get thier pro careers going. A $40,000 signing bonus really isn't that large considering we are talking about your future.
