  1. Anyone else getting worried on every foul ball pop up to the first base side?
  2. That has to be one of the weakest hit home runs I've ever seen.
  3. I feel like Prince has struck out on pitches a foot outside of the zone about 10 times this postseason after doing it about 10 times total in the regular season.
  4. I always kinda liked the Dodgers. I love(d) Dodger Stadium, Ebbets Field, Branch Rickey, Jackie Robinson, and Vin Scully. With all due respect to those places and people, I now hate the Dodgers more than the Cubs, Yankees, Vikings, and Bears combined. Great game, morons.
  5. How amazing is it that there is a Phillies / Reds game tonight, August 29, and we all will be rooting for the Reds?
  6. I'm going to be in town on Monday for the doubleheader and I may have an extra ticket (right behind the Brewers dugout). Send me a message if you're interested.
  7. I will be there for the weekend - booked my flight several months ago. I'm just glad to be going on a Brewers road trip where the games actually mean something.
  8. Now there is a real argument against wearing the navy blue jerseys. If we're in the road greys, no way Wolf confuses the umpire with Yuni. Shame on all of us for not thinking of that point in the uniform discussion thread a few weeks back.
  9. With 2 outs that is the right call to send Morgan. Odds of the SS making that perfect throw from his knees are low.
  10. Houston / Tampa Bay tied 7-7 .. All other NL Central teams are losing. Could be a huge day.
  11. We usually park at Howard and take the red line from there - that's our plan for tonight. It's a little longer drive to get to the Howard station, but it has a big parking structure and there are no transfers involved.
  12. It looks to me like Mcgehee is trying to pull everything even though all he is seeing is outside pitches.
  13. For those who have access to HBO on demand, this segment is now available. I just finished watching -- good stuff.
  14. Does it seem to anyone else like the Fox-Trax strike zone is set too low tonight? It seems like every pitch is showing up as several inches above where it actually is. Maybe it's just my perception, but it looks like obviously low pitches are showing up as being in the Foxtrax zone, pitches that look right at the knee are showing up as being in the top of the zone, etc..
  15. And after getting 2 absolute gifts from the home plate umpire, Holliday has the nerve to complain after finally being called out on a ball right down the middle.
  16. Hi, I know most of you on this forum play in the County league, but please pass this along to anyone who may be interested: I run a men's softball league Wednesday nights at Brown Deer Park and we are looking for 1 additional team for 2011. The level of competition is fairly low and everyone really is just there to have a good time. If you are interested or know anyone who might be please contact me and I can give you more information. You can send me PM thru yuku or reply to this post.
  17. Run totals given up so far this season: 5, 5, 4, 5, 7, 7, 9, 7, 6, 5, 7 (so far)
  18. The Yankees are offering live streaming video to anyone in New York who receives the YES network on their cable package. Not sure if this works on the iphone app or not. Hopefully this is something that MLB keeps expanding to other markets for next season. Anyone have any idea how long YES and the Yankees have been doing this or any more specifics? http://wwwyankees-on-yes-...arket/index.jsp?c_id=nyy
  19. Say Macha had brought in Vargas to pitch the 13th and he gives up a run or two. How many posts would there be complaining about Macha not letting Coffey go out there and pitch another inning. After all, he looked great for the 11th and the 12th and his pitch count wasn't too high. My guess is that if that would have happened, we would see the same types of posts calling Macha "incompetent" or saying that we got "Macha'd" I'm not saying I agree or disagree with leaving Coffey out there, but it's a decision that I could see going either way. Him going one way or the other doesn't mean that he lost the game for us or that he's incompetent.
  20. In his defense, many of his readers (at least the ones who post on his blog) act like small, stupid children.
  21. Julio's performance was awful and Macha's decision to bring him in was dumb -- but how does booing help? I just don't get booing your own team unless there is a clear lack of effort.
  22. jhart05: If you take those seats for the Saturday 20 game package, you'll probably be next to us. We've been in 209 row 3 seats 3-4 for the last 2 years. They are great seats. There is a railing that is sort of in the way of first base, but its low enough that its not much of a distraction at all. Actually, in seat 6 the railing is just about completely out of the way, and seat 5 it isn't too bad. It is more of an issue in our seats. We're thinking of upgrading to loge infield or club, but if we decide not to spend the extra money then we'll definitetly take our old seats back.

  24. I think today's loss has to be one of the worst in the recent history of Wisconsin sports when you combine the game itself along with its significance. There have been worse games, and there have been more significant losses, but I don't know if we've had many that rank so high in both categories. In terms of the game itself, I think it has to be a 10 out of 10 on the frustration meter. We've blown bigger 9th inning leads, but none I can remember with 2 outs and nobody on. Combine that with all the missed chances, especially the 5th and the 12th, and its tough to argue with a 10 out of 10. When it comes to the significance of the loss, I would put today's game at a 9. Keeping it from being a 10 is the fact that it wasn't a playoff game, and even with the loss we still do have a legitimate chance of winning the wild card. On the other hand, with so much invested into the season, and being down a half game with 10 to play, it doesn't really get much bigger. Here is my list of worst games in the last decade (maybe even 2 decades) for Wisconsin sports. I'm weighing both categories equally, so in order for a game to make the list it has to be both an awful loss and a very significant one. 1. Fourth and 26 2. Today's game 3. Bucks game 5 vs. Sixers in 2001 Conference Finals 4. When Jerry Rice fumbled and the refs missed the call, then Terrell Owens caught the touchdown 5. 2008 NFC Championship
