  1. I was thinking second base, but kind of hard to push this trade when their second baseman is doing better than Hall right now. Smith would be hard to get from them as well.
  2. Somthing to stir the coffee pot: Is Bill Hall really an established star? I'm a little biased though I thought we should have traded him last year when his stock was high.
  3. For real though, pogo, I really like Milledge as a prospect still and Smith could become our closer in '08 if Francisco hits the highway.
  4. Do not sell Lastings short. Lastings isn't a 5 tool player
  5. Send down Spurling. I'd be fine with an outfield rotation of Jenkins, Hart, Mench, Gwynn, Milledge and Gross. Imo, we're going to need pen help if for nothing else then to provide insurance in case T-bow falls apart or Wise fades in the second half which has happened before. Smith would be a great option as a set up man and would save me money on all the mylanta I buy for when T-bow toes the rubber.
  6. Doesn't it always turn out we get into these discussions and then someone who actually knows what's going on says it's not actually FSN who's screwing us. That FSN has more to gain and gets much higher ratings on Brewer broadcasts than poker reruns.
  7. BOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!
  8. all lefty outfield sounds good to me.
  9. Interesting stats considering the park he plays in: DeRosa: Home: .313BA .364 OBP .484SLG .847OPS 5HR 30RBI Away: .335BA .393 OBP .552SLG .944OPS 7HR 33RBI For comparison's sake, in Hammond's one standout season: Coor's Field: .399BA .465 OBP .651 SLG 1.116OPS Away: .275BA .325 OBP .415 SLG 740 OPS Obviously red flags should have been thrown up big time.
  10. On a sidenote, I wouldn't lock myself into a longer or more costly contract with DeRosa than the market dictates. I was trying to determine what he would be worth this offseason and 8 mil is probably high. I simply compared his numbers to Jenkins 900 OPS 2003 extension season without taking anything else into consideration.
  11. I'll admit it's a high risk proposition(and I'd be hard pressed to go over a three year deal) but if you get shaky feet another possiblility is signing Frank Catalanotto in the off-season for the 3 spot, who's not having quite the season as DeRosa but has a better track record.
  12. 900 OPS De Rosa, with a .380 OBP. Yeah, that's him.
  13. Off-season transacations: -Bill Hall to NY Mets for CF Lastings Milledge and RP Pedro Feliciano. -Do not resign Ohka, assign rotation spot to Villanueva, use some of freed up money to sign Justin Speier as set up man. 2 yr/4 mil -Sign RF Mark DeRosa to a 4 yr/ 32 mil. dollar deal in the off-season. -RF Kevin Mench traded for catching prospect -Starting Rotation: Sheets 10 mil Cappy 4 mil Davis 4.5 mil Bush 350 K Villanueva 350 K Lineup: Milledge 350 K Weeks 500 K DeRosa 8 mil. Fielder 350 K Koskie 2 mil Hart 350 K Hardy 350 K Miller 3.75 mil. Bullpen: Cordero 5 mil. J. Speier 2 mil Feliciano 350 K Capellan 350 K Wise 1 mil Shouse 1 mil Gonzalez 1mil Bench: Jenkins 8 mil Gross 350 K Cirillo 1 mil Tony G. 2 mil. Rivera 350 K Grand Total: $57, 250, 000
  14. WTH. Why do you not put Shouse in against one of the premier lefties?
  15. Did I actually witness some clutch 2 out hitting?
  16. Graffy! I'm sorry but Melvin robbed the Royals, imo. (relative to what he gave up)
  17. I'd much rather keep Mench than Jenkins. He's four years younger and as of right now is hitting three clips better and a much better slugging pct. Plus he doesn't necessarily have to be platooned.
  18. Turnbow the Rock Star. He gets rocked we see stars.
  19. Boring team to watch. Kevin Mench blows.
  20. I'm pumped about this game. Lets go Ben. I'd lead Gross off as well.
  21. Dude, I just stepped away. What the frickelberry?
  22. Pitchers have won world series pitching on three days rest. 18 pitches will not ruin a guy three days later.
  23. Hasn't Bush got pounded by the Reds before. Couldn't it just be they mash him(and it seems Gonzalez too).
  24. Looks like the stuff in W. Kentucky won't hit for a couple hours, unfortunately. Or fortunately?
  25. The stuff in Indiana might miss Cincy. The stuff in Western Kentucky probably not.
