  1. Also, wasn't it Mike Mussina that broke his hand punching a wall after a bad inning?
  2. I agree with this. Question: If Fielder does sign with the Cubs after this season, do you boo him? I tear him apart....
  3. Eh, I tend to disagree with you man. Yes, Hardy was a one time All-Star...but you can't just openly call him an "All-Star SS" as if he legitimately was, an All-Star SS. The guy was AWFUL and still is AWFUL. Getting rid of him was the smart thing. He was never going to get better here.
  4. At least if we get Furcal we'll have someone who can succesfully bunt.
  5. Thanks for everything you gave to the Brewers and the city of Milwaukee, Chris. Your comeback story is truly inspirational to all. You were, and still are a very underrated pitcher with very underrated talent. I hope some team sees that and gives you plenty of opportunities. You were always a favorite of mine. Best of luck in the future brother, and remember, Milwaukee's not like this in the summer!
  6. Would much rather have a stacked MLB roster than a stacked farm system.
  7. Also here... http://sportsillustrated....1.predictions/index.html 2011 predictions...Joe Sheehan says...
  8. If you're including the future, and current ages of players in the discussion, then I take our current 5 and run like hell.
  9. Oh no man not at all...I didn't post that as any sort of comeback to you...I just thought it was kinda news. Also Steve Berthiume from ESPN is texting very confidently about it...saying in 2 tweets that "Melvin picking up Greinke and Marcum are great bold moves."
  10. AndrewWagnerOMC Listen, I was skeptical at first too. But when my person said "yes," I have no reason to doubt him.
  11. I'd rather pay Greinke 5/100 than Fielder. Any day of the week. Maybe even over Sabathia considering how much he was used.
  12. Brewers, according to Fox Sports, are on Greinke's no-trade clause list. That's a shame. We can put this one to rest.
  13. Maybe Greinke's trying a little harder to get out of KC. He just changed agents. EDIT: Link http://fanpeeps.com/-clqd EDIT #2: Greinke has added the Nationals to one of the 15 teams he refuses to be traded to, which is pretty huge for Brewers fans holding out hope that we can get him. Nationals were considered to be front runners, and they definitely have the pieces to acquire him. Nationals reportedly join the Yankees and Red Sox as the 3 known teams on the list of 15.
  14. Hahah this is comedy.
  15. My buddy from Minnesota said from all indications he's heard and whatnot he'll be shocked if the Twins don't re-sign him. Twins shed salary so they could re-sign him.
  16. And the previous three years were .275, .254 and .247. I don't think either is a bad target, but I'd prefer Shields. Possibly another year of control as well as buying low. Some comparisons between Garza and Shields. I'm not using Shields' 2010 season to show just how similar they are. Garza - 3.86 ERA Shields - 4.01 ERA Garza - 3.05 BB/9 Shields 1.93 BB/9 Garza - 7.10 K/9 Shields - 7.15 K/9 Garza - 1.09 HR/9 Shields - 1.15 HR/9 They're pretty much the same. The only difference between Shields' 2010 and his previous three seasons is a 3% drop in his LOB%, a .354 BABIP (career .314) and the highest HR/FB% of his career (13.8% 2010 to 11.7% career.) Now if you think that's an outlier, he's an excellent buy low candidate. If you think that's going to be a trend, you would probably want Garza instead. I think it's an outlier, so I'd be willing to gamble on Shields. Yeah...but even if the margin is slight...Garza pretty much outdoes Shields in most categories. And Garza's 2 years younger...and has consistently put up a sub 4 ERA. Garza's my first option, no question, IMO.
  17. VERY glad to hear we're in on Greinke. Glad to see Melvin making some noise this offseason.
  18. Agreed. I'm 20...and I really first started becoming a "huge" fan of the Brewers (per growing up and living here) was when I was like 5 or 6. And that grey road jersey posted above, as well as the jerseys before those, are definitely my favorites. If they went to the ball and glove full time, I'd be in full support.
  19. Need to extend Weeks. Lineups like ours in the National League, with competent pitching, is what makes teams top tier...like the Phillies. You never know what Brett Lawrie will be...and Weeks is actually affordable, unlike a player like Fielder. Please get this done Melvin, so I don't have to change my username.
  20. If any of you reading this thread scroll past this link...think again. Fantastic read. I can't wait to see what Roenicke can do.
  21. I would love to have Valentine. I'm hoping for either Valentine or Roenicke...I'll be very pleased with either.
  22. Latest from RealGM... Farrell just needs to come to terms on a contract with Toronto.
