  1. Once again showing their front office prowess, the bucks are bringing in one of the fifteen worst players in the league instead of trying a flyer on a d leaguer.
  2. Yeah! Women are inferior and can only get one out! GOOD INSULT!
  3. The entire Schuster saga is fascinating to me. It really could be a movie.
  4. It was their second loss when leading by at least ten this season. Fewest in the league. The went all ISO ball in the second half, and it was ugly. No ball or player movement. This isn't 1996 anymore, that won't work.
  5. Okay, here's the guys drafted directly after Rashad Vaughn: Sam Dekker Jerian Grant Delon Wright Justin Anderson Bobby Portis Rondae Hollis-Jefferson Tyus Jones All of them are significantly better than the nothing they got from him this season. Sabonis and Taurean Prince are both significantly better than Thon. Drafted the next two picks. As for Wilson, Anouby, Kouzma and Allen were all on the board and all look infinitely better than a guy who plays the Bucks weakest position (due to injuries thus far, that's been the 4) and can't even see the floor this season. I had to delete the RPM stuff, the quotes broke my post, but, RPM is "Real Plus Minus" it factors in who's on the court with you and against you and uses an extreme regression model to help normalize things. +/- totals in individual games are mostly irrelevant, for the Bucks, in general, you're positive consistently if you play with Giannis, negative if you don't. Again, this season the Bucks have gotten an overwhelming negative from their last 3 first round picks. If they would've sold off the Brogdon and Sterling Brown picks (as they did with 2 other second rounders) things would look even worse.
  6. It's not just that he's having a down season. He's one of the worst 10 players getting minutes in the league. He's been absolutely terrible. The difference between playing Thon and playing a guy like Zeller is absolutely huge.
  7. The link is to an article about his age controversy, but says nothing about what other GMs think of him. In fact, it is complementary: "“What he is” is this: an oak tree that can pick-and-pop and be relied upon to defend someone half his size in a switch. He can also do stuff like this. Who the hell cares how old he is? " He has been one of the worst players in the NBA this season. There is an age where you can no longer wager on hope for the future. http://www.espn.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/page/12/sort/RPM The trade today proved that for the Bucks. Also, the idea that the Bucks have drafted well is hilarious. https://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=1232129
  8. I want to see the best players play the most. Watching Hernan Perez get 300 PA's because he can double switch and play all over the diamond is awful. What extra strategy is there in the NL? I don't understand it. "Oh, which bench player do I swap in for my starter today to get 1 extra PA?" "Which guy won't be in the game any longer when his spot comes up in the 9th inning so we have to hit our 3rd bench guy?"
  9. His buddy Jason Kidd got him paid him to work out with Thon. Of course he's going to say great things, so they bring him back again. Thon's work ethic is legendary, but if 2 years of working like that gets you to the point of being one of the worst players in the NBA at age 24 (like most front offices believed https://www.theringer.com/2016/6/29/16042548/thon-makers-age-controversy-could-change-the-draft-as-we-know-it-eb82d46c2273 ), can you really expect some huge amount of growth going forward?
  10. 4th time in 37 playoff games that the Pat's gave up 30 points. Packers have given up 30 5 times in 16 playoff games under Rodgers.
  11. I looked it up on Baseball-reference: https://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/split.cgi?t=p&lg=NL&year=2017#all_9821949978 2430 Games started for 13420.2 IP, an average of 5.52 IP/Start 2430 Games started for 13366.2 IP, an average of 5.50 IP/Start. Not surprised the NL averages a little more. They get 2 free outs every 6IP.
  12. I don't like watching pitchers hit. They are terrible at it. I don't like watching pitchers get hurt running the bases, they are terrible at it. I am completely in favor of the DH.
  13. The day before Jabari comes back Brogdon goes down with what looked like a severe injury and Giannis goes down with a sprained ankle. Why can't we have nice things?
  14. I’m with you on Lutz. If reports of his pre-draft 110-mph exit velocities are accurate he has a chance to be a difference maker with the bat.
  15. It's interesting, because you would think it would be the reverse, will all the people cutting the chord. I would think they would be more eager to keep customers. Oh well, I'll let you know what I find when I play the game with Spectrum/Charter/TWC or whoever they are by the time I have to make that call in August. I'm guessing the number of people cord cutting is vastly overstated. It's probably more people who never had cable or satellite to begin with are choosing streaming services instead of people with cable/satellite getting rid of it. The number of cord cutters in 2017 went up 33%, to over 22 million. https://www.emarketer.com/Article/eMarketer-Lowers-US-TV-Ad-Spend-Estimate-Cord-Cutting-Accelerates/1016463
  16. Are you saying Chipper isn't deserving? He might be the 3rd best 3B ever... At worst he's 6th.
  17. My vote goes to "optics." That said, I'm guilty of using "at the end of the day." "Do More with Less" isn't on there? C'mon.
  18. I went to Seattle in 2016, when the Brewers played out there. An amazing town to visit for a week (or weekend). Don't think I'd want to live there unless I was making a ton of money though. Expensive and crowded.
  19. Compare it to the Kohl Center which was designed 6 years after the BC was built. It's night and day.
  20. It's almost as if they squandered assets over the last 3.5 years and got almost nothing in return. Like, say Cap Space (Delly, Teletovic, Plumlee, Henson, Snell), or first round draft picks (Wilson, Thon, Vaughn, Traded one for Vasquez, traded one for MCW, traded one for Bledsoe). Trading talented veterans for nothing: Dudley, Zaza, Ersan. Really, the only thing(s) personnel-wise the new regime has done right is... what? Drafting Brogdon, trading Knight, and probably trading for Bledsoe.
  21. Have you been there? Yes, it was ancient the day it was finished being built, 30 years ago. The ratios of seats are wrong (way more uppers than lowers) and every single thing about it is outdated. It would need ~200M in upkeep just to stay up to code in the coming years -- things like heating, wiring and plubming, let alone the cost to modernize things like ribbon boards, scoreboards and concessions (which are an absolute disaster at the current BC).
  22. You really think teams are tanking for draft picks? I don't think that happens in MLB. Teams simply cut payroll to the minimum because they realize the difference between 60 and 70 wins is nothing.
  23. I'll absolutely understand the OSU game. They went in thinking that 3 guys were going to play all the guard minutes, then suddenly, 2 of them were out. The Purdue game, well, they looked like a team starting 3 freshman on the road against a top-5 team.
  24. Have you watched what this front office has done over the past 4 years? They are incompetent. Jabari is a restricted free agent. Someone will give him at least a 20m/yr offer sheet, and I'd wager the Bucks will match. Edit: Assuming he comes back and looks like a legit scorer like he did last season. Heck, they should've been looking to move Jabari from the first day he came back from his knee injury to get out from under all the bad money they dumped into the great off season of cap space. Steve Kyler (a pretty plugged in NBA guy) recently stated:
  25. They could only trade them to a team with the cap space to take them on... which is like 4 teams (Chicago, Indiana the Lakers and Brooklyn). Those 4 teams are going to pursue for Paul George and LeBron (and others). Why would they take on our crap (Henson, Delly, Snell, Teletovic) for nothing? That means trading Brogdon, their only talented guy on a rookie deal or a draft pick. The Bucks have already traded their 2018 first, which means the next one they can trade is 2020. Their last 3 first round draft picks are currently sitting at negative value (with Vaughn being a FA after this season). Sure, the team could give away Bledsoe and Middleton and probably get a pick back, but unless they did that with both, they won't have max cap-space available. None of this includes the fact that Jabari is an RFA after the season and will probably be looking to get a max (or near-max) deal from one of the previous 4 teams I mentioned.
