  1. It's really not being blown out proportion. He could not see what he was hitting. He was using the crown of his helmet as a weapon. That is a completely illegal hit and has no place in football. It is a hit of that type that is purely designed to injure another player (which it did).
  2. Wes Helms and Dan Uggla homered. I'll never forget the guy running through the 4th level concourse yelling "Wes Helms!" And high fiving everyone.
  3. As of 1:30 PM central time on 9/26 (Tuesday) The Brewers have 6 games remaining. The Rockies have 5. The Cardinals have 6, with the obvious 3 against the Brewers. For the Brewers to make the playoffs, they'll have to eliminate the Cardinals from WC contention. The Rockies Magic Number is 5 over the Brewers, 6 over the Cardinals. Here's what needs to happen for the 'Crew to TIE the Rockies: Both of these scenarios eliminate the Cardinals. Brewers 6-0, Rockies 4-1. Brewers 5-1, Rockies 3-2. 87-75. 3 way tie possibility: Brewers 4-2, Rockies 2-3. Cardinals 5-1 (losing 1 game to the 'Crew). 86-76. Other 3-way tie scenarios: Brewers go 3-3, Cardinals go 4-2, Rockies go 1-5. Brewers go 2-4, Cardinals go 3-3, Rockies go 0-6. Both of these Scenarios have the Cards sweeping the Brewers (and bf.net collectively losing their minds) Let's go Crew!!
  4. https://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2013/4/1/4165664/how-can-strikeouts-be-great-for-pitchers-but-not-that-bad-for-hitters The basics of it are, increased strikeouts for a hitter almost always correlates to more power and more walks. If it didn't, the guy would never make it to the major leagues. Where as more strikeouts for a pitcher means less balls in play, and less reliance on defense and luck. Edit: Another article: https://diamond-mind.com/blogs/baseball-articles/77333188-can-pitchers-prevent-hits-on-balls-in-play
  5. Again. You cap it at 60 seconds. If it can't be determined in 60 seconds, you go with the call on the field. They are already taking a minute just to have the guy in the clubhouse wait and see if they should challenge the call anyway every single time.
  6. Could these games bet a part of that flex ticket price thing? It would be risky but you could sell Cubs games completely separate and at a much higher price. This does sound pretty dumb as I am typing it though lol. I believe Terrace Reserved were $24 for Cubs Saturday & Sunday games. They are $14 for the Reds series.
  7. Tan lines in September? There were plenty of shirtless individuals out and about on Sunday at Lambeau
  8. They need to go the college football route. Have an extra umpire/replay official in the booth. Stop with the stupid challenges. If something needs to be reviewed, buzz the home plate umpire. 30 extra seconds is added to the clock (1 minute total), then if it isn't decided by then, call on the field stands.
  9. The 2-way contracts are basically 16th and 17th roster spots. So the Bucks could still sign guys to those contracts, I believe.
  10. If this is true, someone needs to dig deeper and find out more information and get to the bottom of any connection this may have with the outcome of games. I have a friend that works the games and this person wouldn't lie about it. Was seen firsthand. Um, so what? Umps get tickets. They give the tickets to friends, who happen to be Cubs fans. What is the big deal? Absolutely hilarious.
  11. So everyone can question Counsell and demand he be fired if they lose. If they didn't throw him 2 innings and Drake blew the game, they'd do the same thing.
  12. It's that kind of mentality the Brewers have that has led to a 4-10 extra inning record this year. I'd love to see it but when players go up there thinking home run or bust, 9 times out of 10 it's bust. The reason they are 4-10 in extra innings is because their bullpen is terrible. Here are their losing pitchers in the 10 losses: Torres 1 Drake 3 Peralta 2 Feliz 1 Barnes 1 Hughes 2
  13. Last night's was basically a tie. It was impossible to tell. It was fairly easy to see he was safe on this one. Sigh.
  14. And if they win 8-2 yesterday, and win a nail biter in Pittsburgh, do you give Counsell credit for using his best pitchers to win the day, instead of resting them with an unknown outcome the next game? This is a 12 game season. You play the cards you're dealt. You cannot play for tomorrow. You cannot play for extra innings when you're LOSING in the 7th inning. You put your team in the best position to succeed.
  15. I went into the series thinking the Brewers needed to take 3 of 4 to have a chance. They can still do that. Let's go tonight, 'Crew!
  16. I was at Wrigley for that game. Took my dad for his first ever trip to Wrigley. It was such a fun game, until the 9th. I don't think my dad has moved that quickly as he did after that game to get to the train since then. I'd gone to 3 Brewers road games, 2 at the end of 2006 (Chicago and St Louis) and that one, all three games Coco Cordero blew a save, 3 of his first 4 blown saves as a Brewer. So, it was probably my fault. What makes that game hurt even more, the Brewers finished 83-79, the Cubs 85-77. That game was the difference in the division.
  17. I read this out of context and thought, "I wonder what kind of stolen goods he knows about?" Clearly, I've been watching too many heist movies/tv shows lately.
  18. Game 1 of the 2008 playoffs. Gallardo was pitching really well, his curveball was sharp... then it started to rain and he lost his control. Cameron, who'd been so good all season, has a 2 out flyball go off his glove, giving up 2 runs after a Weeks error covering on a bunt.
