    It's easy to forget that MLB is currently in a dead ball era when you are a fan of a team with a top-5 offense. It feels like we are awful at hitting now that we have slumped to top-10 or top-15. Fact of the matter is that there are literally no depth pieces available and pretty much every team in MLB is stuck putting .150 hitters into their starting lineup. If you're a bottom-10 team you probably have multiple .150 hitters playing every day.

    The way to beat Skubal is to go up there and just try to foul off as many pitches as possible and get him out of the game after 6 IP. That's not gonna happen today.

    Walking Perkins and airmailing an easy throw leads to immediate pain for the opposition.

    They are playing the Tigers right now. The rest of the teams they are playing at a different time when they may or may not being playing well. I prefer to use the bigger sample of 2025. The Cardinals didn't suddenly get good this year.

    When exactly does the hard part of Only 3 of the next 15 games are against 2025 playoff teams. The schedule gets harder the second week of May but as others have mentioned we should have help on offense by then. Plus most of the harder opponents are home games. Then starting May 26 there is a stretch of 16 straight games against teams that missed the playoffs in 2025.

    The Cubs are the only team that I consider a threat to actually win the division. I agree on their pitching being weak as well, PCA has also forgotten how to hit. The Pirates are a nice story but aren't sustainable other than O'Neil Cruz finally having a breakout year. They have enough talent to go .500. Statistically, the Reds should be in last place, I have no idea how they have won 14 games. Somehow Terry Francona will manage to keep them competitive but I still see them finishing around 78-80 wins.. Cards -- bats are hot right now and they have won some high scoring games despite terrible pitching. As soon as their bats cool off it will be over. Predicted standings by the all-star break: 1. MIL 2. CHC 3. PIT 4. CIN 5. STL

    New York market + meddling owner = short leash. They have an easy schedule coming up -- Mendoza will be out as manager by May 7 if they don't start winning games.

    JBJ is a real Banana Ball star now though! Speaking of bad contracts, the Stearns era with the Mets might not last much longer with the way things are going there.

    I've been a few times but not since the early 2010s. Traffic to get there is a nightmare. Buy parking in their garage. The area immediately around the stadium has literally nothing. There is a lot of good Cuban food 5-10 min away on SW 8th St. ("Calle Ocho"). Versailles is the place that the tourists go to. There will be next to nobody at the actual game. More Brewers fans than Marlins fans most likely. Inside the stadium itself is actually decent. At least back in the day they had a lot of local food options. Nobody cared that we moved to good seats in the middle of the game. You of all people will of course want to check out the bobblehead museum.

    This isn't hard, just make them share their TV revenue. They make more than all 14 teams with local rights controlled by MLB combined. It takes 2 teams to play a baseball game, why should they keep all the revenue unless they are scrimmaging against themselves?
