  1. It's the last day in Arizona and Randy Wolf has been pretty sharp this spring. I wouldn't put this next to Suppan's 4 HR day where he was supposed to be pitching for a rotation spot.
  2. Here's a link to the article discussing "Hart's toughest critic."
  3. Very well said AJAY, you summed up my feelings too. The season hasn't even started yet and people are calling for Hart's head. He had a down year last year and his spring training has been disastrous, but shouldn't the fans get behind Hart and show him a little bit of encouragement? We need his 2007 performance this year more than ever if we want to contend. What are the alternative options? A 40 year old Jim Edmonds who hasn't put up 400 ABs since 2005? Jody Gerut, who also has never had a full time starting job and has a career OPS 30 points lower than Hart? Maybe Corey Hart would be better served in a platoon role, but shouldn't we at least let him hit for a few months to prove to us that he's worth his new contract. I'll be disappointed if Hart gets booed to start the season.
  4. I can't stand the 100% polyester Brewers cap that New Era is putting out. Does anyone know where I can get a wool Brewers cap, specifically a 7 3/8" fitted with the new logo? Thanks.
  5. Rickie Weeks is going to have a really good year. His approach at the plate is fantastic.
  6. According to a national poll on the ESPN.com homepage, most people want to see a West Virginia versus Butler Championship game out of the 4 possibilities.
  7. Seriously? The season hasn't even started yet. He's barely 28 years old and has put up 2 20-20 seasons in the last 3 years. There are a lot worse options out there than Corey Hart.
  8. Before today's game Villy had a 4.22 ERA with 10 Ks and 0 BBs, but I hate to put a lot of weight on a relievers spring stats.
  9. I hated Parks and Rec at first, but right now it's my favorite show of the 4 Thursday shows. The Office is usually when I cook my dinner to get ready for 30 Rock.
  10. Not to derail this thread, but when did this happen? Do you have a link?
  11. Looks like all of the starters are playing today minus Ryan Braun.
  12. I am still looking for at least 1 more owner for our BF.net keeper league. PM me or post your e-mail address here if interested. Draft time is Wednesday March 31st at 7:15pm CST. Everyone welcome. EDIT: Here's a link to the league. http://games.espn.go.com/flb/leagueoffice?leagueId=181588
  13. You have to keep all of Suppan, Parra and Narveson on the 25-roster to start the season. Remember Gallardo's freak injury against the Cubs in early 2008? This could just as easily happen to any of the 5 starting pitchers this year. Yes this is problematic for Villanueva, who has pitched great this spring, but he will come up from AAA soon enough. You stick Suppan into the long relief/mop-up role based on the fact that he has pitched poorly this spring (and overall) and because sticking Parra and Narveson in the pen gives you 3 lefties in the pen. Between Parra and Narveson you stick Narveson in the bullpen because he doesn't have the innings history to handle an entire season as a starter. Parra needs to have an opportunity this year to prove he can be an effective starter working under Rick Peterson. If you take out his last spring start, where he came out of the bullpen mid inning, he has had a good spring. He still has that "perfect game" upside imo. Gallardo Wolf Davis Bush Parra Suppan Vargas Narveson Stetter Hawkins Coffey Hells Bells
  14. The only guys that Parra was really getting out were the Dodger bench players, who Suppan didn't have to face. Parra had a chance to make a statement today and he blew it.
  15. Agreed. Right now Ryan Braun is the only outfielder that has proven he can be productive everyday. Between Gerut, Gomez, Hart and Edmonds we have a good mix of players to rotate in and out. I can see all 4 of them getting a fair amount of playing time.
  16. This spring training game today is going to be an important one with Parra pitching right after Suppan. Both of them must be feeling the pressure since they are pretty much the two most important undefined roles so far. The game is on MLB.TV this afternoon.
  17. I am revising a Brewerfan.net keeper league a little bit this year. I need 1-2 more owners to fill it up. Please e-mail me at quiet451@gmail.com or PM me if your are interested. I want dedicated people only. The draft will likely be next wednesday at 7pm CST. We're all drafting fresh this year.
  18. I wonder if he is talking about our left handed hitting 5th outfielder Jim Edmonds.
  19. Nice outing by Stetter, at least from what I can tell looking at the box score.
  20. The trading post is only available to registered members of the site, so you might have been logged out when you noticed it missing.
  21. I wish the XM radio in my car had an interface like that.
  22. Manny Parra is a bit erratic early on. Corey Hart swings and misses at a 1-2 slider on the outside corner.
  23. He has a number of combination and permutations when referring to his inventory. It's enough to put you in a bit of a zim-zam.
