  1. The draft pick is the bigger deal to me. And the whole Cardinals pixie dust thing.
  2. will never happen. The Rangers didn't want to give up Olt for Greinke, and are only giving up Olt for Johnson because they can control Johnson in 2013. It's impossible for you to know if those things are true or not unless the Rangers flat out say it. Most of what you read from writers are guesses, what they think fits, and second hand rumors. The majority of trades occur with 0 rumors surrounding them. We didn't hear days worth of the Dodgers and Marlins discussing the value of Hanley Ramirez through the media.
  3. There's lots of them. Betting man says it's all but done. That's basically a blogger saying there's a good fit between the two teams. We think there's a good fit between the Brewers and Rangers as well, doesn't mean it's almost a done deal just because it makes sense. Plus I find it hard to believe the Rangers would come right out and tell the media they are willing to trade Olt for Johnson.
  4. If we are to believe Gameday, Aoki just caught a ball hit by Freese 20 feet into the bleachers in right field.
  5. Has David Freese ever made an out in his life? Or just not against the Brewers?
  6. I would love to have a rotation of Gallardo and four 2/3 type pitchers. Look at the farm system as far as pitchers we have coming up in the next 1-2 years. Peralta - #3 Thornburg - #3 Jungmann - #2/3 Bradley - #2/3 Thats not even looking at guys in the lower minors (ETA 2014-beyond). If you throw in maybe Perez from a Greinke trade then you have 5 guys that are 2/3 starters potentially. Even if 2 don't pan out, you still have only one rotation spot that needs to be filled in by a Fiers/Narveson/Estrada type pitcher. I will take that any day of the week as long as we get a impact bat or two in the trade as well. I'd say those guys all have that ceiling, but what are they odds they all actually reach that ceiling? The way some of them are pitching now they may never make it to the bigs.
  7. As exciting as it would be to get a top prospect or two for Greinke, if they aren't potential ace pitching prospects I don't see how that helps the Brewers much in the future. None of the Brewers current prospects look to be better than a #2 or #3.
  8. Remember when it was rumored the Brewers were going to trade for Melky Cabrera? That would have been awesome because apparently he's the best player of all time.
  9. My thoughts exactly. Just didn't say anything because I didn't want to open a can of worms. Poor Zackkk...what a performance today. I also believe this because the top of the order was coming up, and Zack had that whole lineup confused. Could've gotten out of the 9th, and then put Ax in for the 10th if we hadn't won the game. That's not really fair to say after the fact. If Greinke gives up a run in the 9th we would have a bunch of people questioning that decision as well. They would say, 'he hasn't pitched that deep into a game in a long time, of course he's tired, we have 2 'closers' why didn't we use them?'
  10. If timing is an issue, you can adjust the pitch speed slider. You can lower it which will give you a little more time to react to the pitch. Makes it easier to lay off bad pitches and more time to react to a fastball. There is a timing slider, if you increase it, it makes your timing window larger so even if you are a little late on a swing you have a better chance of making good contact. If you think you are timing right but just not getting hits you can increase the solid hits slider. I have noticed in this year's game there seems to be a lot more hard hit balls right at a defender. Another issue could be your TV. I have two LCD TVs, one a Philips, the other LG. On the LG I can hit and my timing is very good, on the Philips I am always behind and not making solid contact and rarely score more than 2 runs. The Philips is a couple years older and there is no 'Game Mode' on the TV so I'm experiencing lag on that TV. If you have a 'Game Mode' setting on your TV, use that. Here is a forum discussion on the lag with this game... http://www.operationsports.com/forums/mlb-show/540789-game-absolutely-100-needs-calibrate-lag-feature.html
  11. Or, spend/save like a reasonable human being making that much money should. They don't magically become broke.
  12. As a noob to roster uploads can someone please take a moment and lay it out step-by-step? I want to download the OSOD full minor league roster for the Show 2012. Much, much appreciated in advance. Go to the Roster Vault from the main menu, find the user 'Ridindwnkingsley' and the rosters should be titled something like - OSFM Opening day. If you sort all the rosters by ratings or # of downloads it might be easier to find, I'm not sure if you can search by user or not. These will have a high # of DLs and ratings. Once you download it and save, you might have to load them before you can look at them. You can load in the same area where you make saves. You should be able to tell right away if you got the correct rosters, they will have Aoki and all the Brewers minor leaguers on the roster.
  13. I actually made it through the 'Waiting Room' just now and after putting in the password I got the website unavailable error. Back to the waiting room for me.
  14. Aoki was on the Spring Training set for me.
  15. Would be nice if Gallardo was also getting that strike.
  16. Would be nice if Gallardo was also getting that strike.
  17. The new ball physics make this feel like a different game to me. The pitcher's motions and swing follow through also seem to be more realistic or at least more varied. After 1 game the new pitching seems very difficult and almost like I have no control over what happens. Greinke was all over the place, if it's hard with him, I can't imagine what it's like with a bad pitcher. I'll try it for a little while to give it a chance. I wouldn't worry about the rosters. The guys over at Operation Sports http://www.operationsports.com/forums/mlb-show/ create a full minor league roster set every year that should be out around Opening Day. They will add Aoki and Parra and almost all Brewers Minor Leaguers. If you want even more realistic rosters, others will create ones with updated stances/throwing motions, pitching repertoires, equipment, and ratings.
  18. Eric Byrnes said he thinks someone in Ryan Braun's camp was the first to leak the news of a positive test....what?
  19. Listening to 670 out of Chicago on the way home, these guys are pissed. They are stating that it's pretty obvious this was Bud Selig's doing, they are 100% sure he did it, that it's a fact that Clay Matthews is also on roids, and calling anyone from Wisconsin an idiot.
  20. I really hope he isn't traded, unless it's during the season and the Brewers are out of it. The bullpen was awesome last year after he came over. If they still had Hawkins and Saito I could see trading him, but not now.
  21. He's never broken any Brewers news. He's a complete fraud. I've been duped, I must have been thinking about Jim Breen.
  22. Not sure who BrewerNation is on Twitter, but I think he broke some Brewers news before. He says there is potentially huge Brewers news upcoming. Maybe related to this, I don't know. My guess is a Braun ruling though.
  23. Well now we know who's going to be comeback player of the year.
