  1. Why Bell over Rottino again!
  2. Thowing at the head is always unacceptable. That is just dangerous and foolish. If you have to, just give him a brush across the letters.
  3. He might be thinking Koskie will try to come back just to sit on the DL and collect his money. If that's the case I'm all for releasing him.
  4. Biggest thing that stuck out to me in that article was that Gallardo gave up three runs.
  5. I'd say you haven't been paying attention after the draft, as Jemile Weeks was drafted last year. Oh no, I did know that. I just didn't remember after the draft what happened to him. Thanks.
  6. I didn't follow after the draft, but did he sign? Where is he now?
  7. I'm just going to pray we take a college player this year. I don't know much about the prospects, but that Wieters (or whatever) would be my blind target based on the fact that he's a highly regarded college catcher.
  8. Test. Thank you.
  9. I propose a BF.net acronym, BHNY, that would save time and keyboarding strain when we answer questions with "Because he's Ned Yost." BHNY. Let's make bracelets that say W-W-Y-D. That stands for "What Would Yost Do?" Everytime we are faced with a tough decision in our lives, or even an easy one, we can look down at the bracelets and think about how Ned Yost would handle the situation. Then, we can do the opposite. EDIT: Adamb100 could maybe use one of these to help him through his rough times.
  10. Jenkins wasn't PH for because all of the OFers were already used, besides Rottino, who could play out there. But Yost, pinch hitting for a veteran with a new callup!? No way! I mean what are the chances that Rottino, a .400 hitter verse lefties in AAA, gets a hit over Jenkins, a .150 batter verse lefties? But seriously, I can see why he didn't PH there if he doesn't feel comfortable with Rottino in the OF, even for one inning. (C'mon Yost, 1 inning!)
  11. Hall continues to walk. Since July 22nd: .254 / .391 / .535 / .926 Look at that OBP! For the year his OBP is up to .338. At least its rising.
  12. Yost is shocked! Hart's not supposed to do anything in the bigs until 2008! Hart with the two-run eye-opener.
  13. Yo Gallardo with a ho-hum, 6 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 10 K outing. He sure seems to be slipping late in the season here. That's too bad, I really had high hopes for him.
  14. yeah, there are a few forums that I visit that use ezboard and they have these really cool picture thingies for signatures. I wondered if it was doable here. Sorry, but I hate when people have all those picture bars and things for their sigs. I think it just makes the board look cluttered and messy.
  15. Similar question, but how fast does an infielder throw a ball? Like for pitchers the mid-90's is considered good, what is it for infielders, or even outfielders?
  16. No way do you need to give up real prospects to get Burell. Mench for Burell plus $8 million or Jenkins for Burell plus $4 million would be enough I'd think. If that's the case then Melvin should pull the trigger. I really like this idea.
  17. I actually like the idea of trading for Burrell. His stats over the last two years are great, especially his OBP - .272 / .387 / .507 / .894. I don't know if they would take on Jenkins though. I would think something more like Mench, Rogers, and Eveland/Jackson for Burrell plus the $10 million. I would be happy with that.
  18. People who double click things on the computer that don't need to be double clicked. It just drives me nuts for some reason.
  19. in the midwest ..it is pop The Milwaukee area looks pretty isolated. http://www.popvssoda.com/countystats/total-county.gif http://www.popvssoda.com/images/smalldrawn.gif
  20. I can't believe how much Hall has been walking lately. Joe, you can take it back further: 21 BB in 26 games
  21. From our vantage point in section 322 tonight, we and our section mates were convinced that the umpire missed, or chose not to call, strike three on Torrealba. Maybe a payback call for when Yorvit was arguing an earlier called strike 3? I don't know; we didn't have access to a replay and maybe those of you who did saw otherwise. To me, it was a strike all the way. Perfect, tight-breaking slider that caught the inside corner.
  22. http://www.fangraphs.com/graphs/1694_P_season_full_8_20060821.png It's off the charts!
  23. I say we just get rid of forums altogether and have all the posts contained within one giant continuous thread. With no punctuation or new paragraphs. Or spaces.
  24. I don't know if you have a stack of those graphs sitting on your hard drive or what, but do you have one of Turnbow for comparison? Wasn't his LOB% really high last year?
  25. Why are they getting rid of EZboard in the first place? Its my favorite board style out there.
