    deal is official.

not bad for a guy who has cleared outright waivers at least four times in his career. i'm curious if jace ever ended up getting a covid vaccine. he hadn't been vaccinated when he was placed on the special covid-19 injured list this past season . . .

dylan cozens and hoby milner think that this guy should get his own thread. the brewers have signed rex brothers to a minor league deal and have invited him to spring training. brothers is out of minor league options. he has been outrighted to the minor leagues before. the brewers have five non-roster invitees for 2022 spring training.

the brewers officially announce the signing of pedro severino. he is out of minor league options, and has been outrighted to the minor leagues before. the roster is at 37 players.

the deal is official, per brewers.com transactions page.

the deal has not been made official yet.

when made official, this will be the first major league contract for brett sullivan, something brewers888 has almost assuredly never achieved. he will enter spring training with three minor league options, and cannot refuse a minor league assignment if he happens to clear outright waivers.

the brewers have signed trevor kelley to a minor league deal and have invited him to spring training. if added to the 40-man roster, kelley has two minor league options remaining. he has been outrighted to the minor leagues before. the brewers have four non-roster invitees for 2022 spring training.

the brewers have signed jason alexander to a minor league deal and have invited him to spring training. he has yet to appear on a 40-man roster, and therefore, has all three minor league options intact. the brewers have three non-roster invitees in camp.

the brewers acquire j.c. mejia from cleveland for a player to be named later. mejia has been granted a fourth option (it will be burned in 2022 regardless of his roster status), and he has never been outrighted to the minor leagues. the roster is at 36 players.

the brewers lose their vp of international scouting and player personnel. he is expected to join the red sox after thanksgiving weekend.
  12. djoctagone
the roster is at 35 players.

mark mathias has been outrighted to class aaa nashville. it is his first outright assignment.
  14. djoctagone
the last two posters need to be reminded that clubs have 26-man rosters now.
  15. djoctagone
my mistake . . . two options remaining. he was optioned during the covid-19 shutdown, but was recalled at the start of the abbreviated 2020 season.
  16. djoctagone
i didn't take into account the abbreviated season. brosseau was optioned in spring training in 2020. he does have two options remaining.
  17. djoctagone
i'm seeing mike brosseau spent less than 20 days on optional assignment in 2019, but at least 20 days on optional assignment in 2020 and in 2021. thus, i calculate one option remaining, not two.
  18. djoctagone
mike brosseau has been acquired from tampa bay for a minor leaguer. he has two minor league options remaining, and has yet to be outrighted to the minor leagues. the roster is at 36 players.
  19. djoctagone
mike brosseau has one minor league option remaining. he has never been outrighted to the minor leagues.

the brewers have signed andruw monasterio to a minor league contract and have invited him to spring training. he has yet to appear on a 40-man roster, and therefore, has three minor league options intact. he is the second non-roster invitee for 2022 spring camp.

the brewers have signed hobie harris to a minor league contract and have invited him to spring training. he has yet to appear on a 40-man roster, and therefore, has three minor league options intact. he is the first non-roster invitee for 2022 spring camp.

    tv announcers what you want
  23. djoctagone
they could still plan to re-sign him. he was arbitration-eligible.
  24. djoctagone
eric yardley has never been outrighted before, so if he clears waivers, he remains in the organization. he would be eligible for minor league free agency at the end of next season if his contract isn't selected and added back to the 40-man.
  25. djoctagone
luke maile cleared outright waivers. because he had been outrighted to the minor leagues before, he reserved the right to refuse the outright assignment to class aaa nashville and become a free agent. he elected free agency.
