I dunno, if he starts asking why we don't put all of that crap on a hot dog, he should be fired. And if he doesn't know that the lyrics are "zing boom tarerrel" he should be fired. If he makes a joke about tailgating....fired. Now these may seem a little harsh... But I think you'll agree assimilation will make everyone happy..

Well he'll be tested early enough with the ST Cubs games. I'm sure Uke will "have words" with him should the need arise. The guy may be good, even great and I'll give him a chance, but PR wise the BRN should have known this would raise some ire.

Well look at an owner like Wilpon for the Mets, he got swindled in that Madoff scandal, didn't he? That and with the market down as it is, it's got to affect the capitol an owner can sink into payroll..

I'll miss ya Jim..Your farm reporting alone made you a special broadcaster in a fans heart. During the extreme down years, when about 7,000 people milled about County Stadium to watch a Brewers/Buccos slugfest (har har), your insight and enthusiasm for the minors made us feel like hope was always "just around the corner".. Thank you Jim..

You'd think a company that makes it's money doing low cost stock trades would have more pressing uses of capitol in this economy than to buy a sports team.. But what do I know..

    Who is Bob Eucker?

Isint Mets ownership involved with this Madoff thing? Does this effect the team in any way?

His mechanics make it seem less likely that he'd blow out, arm wise.. I think that's a fair assessment.. And his confidence.. But things happen I guess (he says covering his arse)

I believe it's January 23rd at Midwest Airlines Center.. And you have to pay for autographs this year.. Anyone else know the finer details?

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3754618 I'm sure this will raise the ire of some folks..

Not sure if this was brought up somewhere, but since this is a league run network, what are the possibilities of some kind of revenue for the teams from this? You'd think there would be something.. EDIT - I see something along these lines mentioned on the 1st page, but I guess I want to know if anyone heard anything specific.

Goes to show how stocks in everything/everyone have fallen.. A couple of seasons ago Lew was touted as "the guy".. Now he's trying to scratch it out in Japan.. The Mench thing I am surprised about.. Would have thought he'd land on his feet somewhere.. (Not Japan)

Not to stray too far OT I remember when CS finally closed and they cleaned out the basement there and sold that stuff. Really cool stuff, lots of old signage, programs, etc.. I got a ton of neat stuff from that.. I'll probably go, just to check it out..

Heh heh... From NSBB : 100 years is inexcusable. The freking ROYALS have won it all once since I became a Cubs fan 30 or so years ago. How can we show our anger, frustration, hurt, tears to the team? Im serios of putting up a demonstration outside the Cubs Convention. Im serious about beating down anyone who either brings up the '100 year chokers,' or the blue kool-aid people who say "It was a magical season' Ive had a terrible week.. Personal marital problems, car wreck, writen up at work, and now this. Written up at work! Wife leavin you? Trashed the Duster? Tonite, let it be Lowenbrau!
