  1. Ann Carroll does suck If we must have eye candy Put Uke in a dress
  2. It could be much worse Iambic Pentameter Is harder to do
  3. Jack Wilson looks like A badly shaved chimpanzee He kills the Brewers...
  4. This is one of the 50 games every team loses...
  5. I'm chalking this one up to a "I hate this weather, let's get the heck out of Dodge" mentality. Brewers looked like they'd rather be somewhere else today, but I'll cut them a lot of slack after the efforts of the last 2 nights. And as for Cappy2 getting called up, I'm voting no. If he didn't have the decency to apologise to the teammates he let down by his little AWOL adventure, I don't want him anywhere near the good chemistry of the big league clubhouse.
  6. How soon before someone photoshops a big "S" on Jenks' chest?
  7. Oh my everlovin' god, what a game! My heart has only just slowed down to marathon runner, thanks to the relaxing qualities of a 50 page IGT! Winning ballclubs win these games. It's way too early to start anointing anyone, but this win should be used to motivate us every time the Crew goes behind this year. Wow... I'm so incredibly happy after this win that it feels inappropriate to mention anything negative, but I've been asked, as a fan of Yost, to explain why I like his style. Here's why. The talking to he gave Villy to get him back on track was managing his players. Everything else is just rolling dice and playing percentages... GO BREWERS!!!
  8. jim@ohmygodbrewersareraking.com ...or maybe not!
  9. With every Bill Hall flub, I find myself repeating "it'll come, be patient, it'll come, be patient" over and over. So far, I'm doing a good job of convincing myself!
  10. I don't know, can you? Grow up. Nobody was saying anything about not criticising the Brewers, but the constant rips on the manager in situations in which one of the highly-paid players screwed up, are getting really old. Already. It doesn't matter one bit what I, or anyone else says, the Yost haters will only see the plays that justify their agenda. It's funny that some of the same people clamouring for T-Bow instead of Aquino were more than willing to run him out of town not so long ago. Aaaah hindsight. It cures all ills...
  11. Oh for goodness sake, relax, Francis. We are 13 games in - you'll have a seizure at this rate. Surely it would only have been an issue had Wise been available and he said he wasn't, not vice versa. Simple fact is, Wise cannot pitch 3 days in a row, he just can't and wishing he could doesn't make it more likely to happen. Having used Shouse on 2/3rds of the inning, Aquino had 1 man to get out - 1! There's not a manager in the game would have had extra guys warming up in case he failed to do that. T-Bow would start warming up in the Brewers half of the 8th, and I'm sorry but you can't convince me that Yost should have predicted that Aquino would do what he hasn't done all season, at that precise moment.
  12. Way to contradict yourself within your post. I'm so looking forward to the rest of the season on this board. Every win = "Go Rickie/Prince/Sheeter/Billy" Every loss = "Yost is the worst manager ever, I can't believe he did X" The selective memory capabilities are quite astounding sometimes. Maybe the entire bullpen should warm up every night in case someone forgets how to do their job after 2 pitches and needs the hook. Barely a mention about the aggressive decisions made earlier in the game that gave us the freakin' lead for Aquino and Dessens to blow in the first place. My head hurts. As much from some of the posts here after 13 games, as from the Crew.
  13. Y'know, despite the frustrating nature of this game, the rain delays, and the general Little League atmosphere, I have a gut feeling that somehow, we'll end up winning this. I think my gut needs looked at!
  14. 19,000 at the Keg for the Indians game - wow!
  15. Hmmmm...what does it say one week in when my first thought after Prince got on was "aw man, not Bill Hall". His body language says "I really don't want to be here"
  16. How on earth could we possibly win a game with the worst lineup in Brewers history?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  17. Interestingly enough, all the guys that traditionally get the man-love round here, Hall, Prince, Villy and Gross were the ones that didn't get the job done tonight, yet Counsell, JJ and Jenks delivered. Not that you'd know that, however. I'd love just once to see some parity in the comments by many BF.net posters. And I don't remember the 20/20 hindsight goggles being used quite as much as they have in IGTs this season, but I don't know what that says about us...
  18. Not to instill any false hope, but the ownage of the Crew by D.Lowe is offset by his 0-2 record pitching on opening day!
  19. How many runs have his errors cost? How many runs have his Homers created? I'm just sayin'...
  20. I'm guessing half of it devoted to ranting about Chad Moeller...
  21. One of these three things is highly unlikely... ...c'mon, a Turnbow strike? Really?
  22. Snow Patrol OK Go Silversun Pickups at the Rave in early April Coachella in Cali in late April Mr Waters at the Amp when the tix go on sale The Police in Chicago when the tix go on sale too!
  23. Well, it's been eagerly anticipated by many but I've had Arcade Fire - Neon Bible for 2 days now and I'm a happy boy. Everything I hoped for and more. First single Intervention gives a little clue where the Montreal collective are going. Big church organs and, for want of a better word, a majesty about it. There's lots of the epic songwriting that made 2004's Funeral album such a treasure, but unexpected elements like Keep The Car Running, which sounds like crazy indie rockabilly with Win Butler's trademark howl overlaid. For newer fans, No Cars Go, long a staple of their live set and included on their first mini-album EP dealie, is a nice addition. I can't wait to see how well it all comes together as the sun starts to set on the Saturday night they play at Coachella.
