  1. I hope so - I won it last year!
  2. George Orwell? Big Brother is watching...
  3. I'm a huge fan of Virgin and Richard Branson, so I'll never fly British Airways.
  4. He has a look of "I'm French, and/or rich, beeetches!"
  5. I cannot recommend Rudi Uttke and Sons highly enough. Based on S.Howell, they've been around a good while and have always been reasonable and quick, I've found. 414-483-2159, speak to Tiffany, she's a sweetie. Tell her Alan sent ya!
  6. I can never remember if parasailing or paragliding is the one I did in Corfu. I did whichever one involves getting pulled behind a boat with a parachute attached to me! My sister and I did a tandem dealie, but the parachute didn't fill with air right away so it mostly felt like waterskiing with my face as we were dragged through the water for about 100 yards! Second time, about 5 minutes later (when the contents of the Adriatic were removed from my nose), the chute inflated and we had a very enjoyable little flight. I'm not a huge fan of heights, but, like ballooning, (which is also fun) you never really get that vertigo feeling, just an incredibly peaceful great view.
  7. It's playoffs or bust for me this year too, if for no other reason than this; we have one of the best, most exciting teams in the league, and there are a gajillion threads about the manager. If we don't make it, he gone, and we can turn our collective vitriol to whichever new guy comes in. Unless, of course, the new guy's a Brewers legend, in which case all bets are off...
  8. As a follow up to this one, my wife's Uncle Bernard was Divine's manager, and the one who found him dead in his hotel room.
  9. I have a 30gB iPod and it's amazing how many songs I skip as I'm listening on shuffle. I'd suggest creating a "greatest hits" playlist and sticking all your absolute favorites in there. You should get a good 2000 of those without all the album filler that is taking up much of your space. Or you could create different playlists for different genres and completely reload the iPod every time you feel like a change, with a new style.
  10. I've said it before, but if Ned, a former backup catcher had been, oh I dunno, a HOF former SS and occasional outfielder wearing #19, then half of his "wrong" decisions would have been excused somehow. His wasn't a sexy hiring back in 2002, and that fact alone influences much of the vitriol, whether posters admit it or not...
  11. Wait a minute, we have at least 3 players occupying positions they didn't play last year for the Brewers. Of course the lineup is still getting finalized! Jeez, people, now we've gotten to the stage of analyzing every last word Yost says in throwaway soundbites at news conferences? C'mon. It's gonna be a long enough season of Yost hunting without picking up on stuff like this...
  12. What's bugging me? Snow. Can we be done now, please?
  13. I hate the DH - I'd scrap it in a heartbeat. For all those that love it, why not just have a defensive 8 consisting of players like Omar Vizquel, Mentkiewicz and Adam Everett and 9 mashers when it comes for them to bat. It'd be great - fabulous defense and a gazillion homers. Think of how much fun the game would be!
  14. I'll second third the Mazda love. I have a 2006 Mazda3, it gets 30mpg and is as zippy as all heck. It's got me out of a couple of scrapes already when idiots have pulled a ridiculous manouver. Add in the sunroof and 6CD changer and I'm a happy boy. I'm also of the larger persuasion and there's plenty of room for both me in the front and my 6'3" kid in the back. 2 sets of golf clubs will fit in the trunk (or lots of shopping bags for those that care about these things). Like Valpo said, it's just a little more stylish than the average saloon. Just my 2c.
  15. Is she the first woman to have her picture taken with the first camera, ever?
  16. ...and if we get Torre, with the rest of the big bag o' cash, we should pursue ARod and that Santana fella that Minnesota has.
  17. I would have thought that the mere presence of the Cubs in the postseason at the expense of the crew would have proved that god doesn't exist! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  18. And then after the blown save it would be Yost's fault for waiting that long to bring him in. After all, he warmed up on three different occasions - he was obviously spent!
  19. Here's a few that might be appropriate John Lennon - Imagine "You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one" Queen - Don't Stop Me Now "I'm having such a good time, I'm having a ball" Coldplay - Fix You "But if you never try, you'll never know/Just what you're worth" Natasha Bedingfield - Unwritten "Today is where your book begins/The rest is still unwritten" U2 - One "We're one, but we're not the same/We get to carry each other Oasis - The Masterplan "I'm not saying right is wrong/it's up to us to make the best of all the things that come our way" That'll do for now, I think...
  20. Bringing home 2 carts full of grocery shopping and then having to ferry back and forward about 20 times to get all the stuff in the house. C'mon scientists. Where's that matter transference machine thingy we were promised in the future? Hellooooo. It's the future. Where is it, boys? What with that, no flying cars and a lack of healthy meals that come in tablet form, I'm beginning to seriously doubt this whole "science" thing, I tell ya...
  21. I'd like to see us have a go for Yorvit Torrealba. He's decent defensively, has about as much pop in his bat as Estrada does, and with 10 career triples he obviously doesn't run like he's carrying a piano - unlike a certain chunky catcher I could mention. The Rockies seem high on Ianetta, even though he got off to a slow MLB start. At 1-2 million, Yorvit'd be a decent pickup IMO.
  22. Typical - I'm going on a family vacation to Toronto next summer and we get 'em at the Keg!
  23. Yup, yup, yup! The last time the Cubs had WS winning pitchers, so I thought I'd include them to remind the universe to keep that mojo going!
