  1. I noticed that after the main event, the last set of fireworks shot straight down instead of being fired up. I didn't think anything of it and just figured it was all part of the show. WWE will have some nice lawsuits on there hands after that one.
  2. Very nice work Sheeter. Stellar on opening day as usual. Now please someone hit a baseball hard somewhere and not get picked off.
  3. Well looks to be a bullpen battle for the last 3 innings, should be interesting to see how our new pen holds up.
  4. Nice way to come out of the rain delay sheets!
  5. Are they saying how long this delay will be?
  6. Upgrading Flash takes like 30 seconds. No big deal. Unless your company has completely locked down administrative rights for the user (don't get me started)! BINGO! Good news is the IT guy says he'll upgrade it for me tommorow.
  7. I recently started a new position and my computer here at work doesn't have the newest version of flash, so basically I have no gameday or audio and I forgot my radio at home today. So put me in the camp that wants the game to start about 3:30, so I can catch about half of the game at home.
  8. Wait the Bucks are actually still playing. I thought they stopped playing a long time ago. At least the game is on MLB.tv.

  10. I'll echo the rain delay chant, because I'm stuck at work till 5 on Monday. If not, then opening with Uecker is okay I guess too.
  11. So what is the excuse by FSN for not showing this game?
  12. Are the Cubs actually going to start Reed Johnson in Center or is that still Pie's job?
  13. Yeah I just figured out the only way I win is if I get final four, championship, and Champion all correct. Pretty much I'm screwed.
  14. Well after my disaster on the first day and a half, last night brought me back from the dead with the picks of Siena and Villanova. Stupid 7-10 games killed me though with me picking all 10's and having only one 10 win. Good to see all of us are within 3 points.
  15. If you turn on ESPN right now you'll see a very surreal scene as the Red Sox players are protesting and not playing todays game. Apparently they are protesting on behalf of the coaches who are not being paid "appearance fees" for there trip to Japan. The players voted unanimously to not play today's exhibition against the Blue Jays and to not board the plane to Japan. Nice show of unity by the players in my opinion.
  16. I was playing MLB 2k7 tonight and had the fact or fiction question come up and it asked if there was an MLB team named the Brewers in 1901? So I thought well that's a stupid question, of course not. Too my suprise it was fact. I'm sure many of you knew this already but I found it extremely interesting and thought I'd let those who didn't know in on this tidbit of information. On a side note are there any other teams that have been moved and become a different franchise and then been resurrected in the same city under the same name? I can think of only one, that being the Cleveland Browns. I'm sure there are others but I'm young. Here's the reference for the 1901 Brewers: http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/MLA/1901.shtml
  17. Count me in too please. Thanks again Pedro.
  18. The Pirates can't even throw strikes to a comedian. I sure hope Maholm was throwing some meatballs up there because otherwise letting Billy Crystal foul off a ball is pathetic. The guy belongs in an old folks home, not on the diamond.
  19. Another good performance from a youngster (Villy, Parra) and another blow up by a veteran (Cappy, Bush). Unearned or not Cappy is a veteran and should be able to work around this type of thing. I'm beginning to fear that Cappy may never recover from what happened to him last year. On a postive note Villy continues to impress and I can't see any way he doesn't make this rotation. To me there are 3 locks for starting the seasons (Sheets, Suppan, and Villy) and Gallardo. That leaves 2 spots to open the season. Parra and Vargas are leading that race and the margin is beginning to widen. In my ideal world Parra and Vargas would start and Vargas would move to the pen or be traded when YoGa is ready.
  20. At first glance when you fire up a game of 2k8 for Wii you think, "this looks terrible". Once you start playing though you completely forget about what the game looks like because it becomes so fun and challening to actually stare down a hitter or try to figure out what pitch is coming and where so you can get a decent hit. Swinging the bat is very realistic and challenging in the higher difficulty levels. If you start a franchise I suggest the variable difficulty setting because I started mine on pro and scored 24 runs and hit about 10 homers but then the next game it raised the difficulty and I only won 6-3. As for the Brewers in the game, they are severly underrated. I think they start out as the 23rd ranked team or something around that number. Corey Hart is terrible, Cameron isn't on the team (he's in free agents), Braun is still a 3rd baseman, and Hall is still listed as CF. I increased the stats for Prince, Braun, and Hart. Made the potential of several of the guys higher and made Yovanni a tad bit better. After I was all done the team ended up as 6th best, which might be a little high but with the variable difficulty setting on the game will just make it harder on me anyways. All in all the game is tons of fun. Beware though there is no online play, apparently no roster updates, no minor league teams (only a limited number of minor league players), and you can only play 1 on 1 for multiplayer options. None of those were deal breakers for me. This is the only sim that's not a cartoon for the Wii. All things considered I would definitely recommend the game.
  21. Well I started with the Uke and Furries picture but saw that someone else had it already, so I switched to my alma maters logo.
  22. Cappy gets roughed up a little and gives up a couple of runs. On a positive note Braun has been doing very well in left in this small sample size.
  23. The game is not on in the Wausau area but lucky for me I had gameday audio last year and I also have XM for this one but that is a last resort since it is the away feed.
