  1. I could see a lot of people wanting to "rough up" the guy for the ball. I just hope its not a woman or kid... I've seen adults take balls from kids before and its pretty disturbing. on any other normal HR ball or foul ball i would agree with that. I'll fully admit if I was close to catching that ball, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't notice who was around me or who I was trying to beat to the ball.
  2. Yost said the wrist that Weeks had surgically repaired last August was not a factor in his slump. from Jim Skaalen We're trying to get him to forget the pull side of the field completely. (After the wrist injury) he's still concerned about getting beat on the fastball." Yost is trying to say that the injury has nothing to do with the slump then Skaalen pretty much says that it does have something to do with it. The way I see it, is even if there is a little or no pain its going to be in the back of Weeks head every time he swings the bat. He is not comfortable up there right now because of the injury. so it does have something to do with it even if its not hurting right now. I know its not the quite the same, but I sprained my wrist last year, and even though it doesn't hurt all the time, it does hurt on certain swings and the way he uses his wrists to swing, I bet it hurts him to swing the bat. He just won't say it.
  3. I went a couple sundays ago early and got 1 autograph. It was horrible. I no longer have those pictures but its really easy. Just take a dry erase marker and draw on the part you don't want there anymore. and wipe it off with a kleenex. it its a glossy picture it works easy, If its one that you printed off yourself I wouldn't do it. It will take the ink from the printer off.
  4. if there is one thing that I can't stand about the HR derby its Berman and his back back back hr call. Other than that, I enjoy watching it and seeing how far these guys can hit a ball. Its amazing
  5. yeah, its distasteful to wear a shirt like that where kids can read it. I have never been to a game in NY but have been to NY before and I'm sure those same kids that might have read it have heard a lot worse when her husband flys out in the playoffs. Its just the NY media trying to stir things up like they always do.
  6. Ned should be fired because he was playing those guys. I don't think anyone was saying yost should be fired because he was playing counsell and graffy. They had to play becuase weeks was on the DL. So thats just false. If you have any problems with your hands or wrists is almost impossible to hit well. I'm sure every time he swings he feels pain shoot down his wrist. I think the Brewers handled it poorly and should have gave him more time to heel it. Just like a couple years ago when he couldn't hold on to the bat and would drop it everytime he swung. Sure he can play through the pain, but its not going to do much good when you need to be pain free to swing the bat well. So weeks not hitting has been disappointing, but its to be expected as well.
  7. my vent is in good fun....How can you not like the doorman? are you really a Brewers fan pitchleague? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif He is a huge human being that shows opposing players the door when they strike out, whats not to like? like i said, this vent was in good fun, I know you're really a Brewers fan and a good one at that.
  8. Is "The Sun" a respected news source? That article seems like pure bologna. I could be wrong but I think the Sun is the UKs version of our tabloit mags. Just like the National Enquirer so I would say no to this being a respected news source.
  9. I'm pretty sure that group of 10 people that voted all Brewers really did make a huge impact on the voting.
  10. I'm happy to see him go. I never wanted him to wear a Brewers uni again and now he probably won't. What I like the most is that we won't see him for a long time even if he did turn things around.
  11. so happy to see this many Brewers going to the ASG. and looking at the voting we weren't far away from having a couple more. There will always be snubs just glad none of them were brewers.
  12. wow, thanks for that picture. Now we can all be pissed all over again.
  13. the pitching can range from a moon ball to a groove ball just depends on how good the pitcher is. Most pitchers in that league aren't very good. There are a couple that can pretty much throw the ball to the sky and land it anywhere they want Just inbox me and let me know. Like i said, we look for subs often on this team, probably 4 or 5 times already this year.
  14. You're being sarcastic, right? of course he is...its all about the back handed slap to people
  15. i can't remember something like 6 times. I batted 3 times in the 6th alone.
  16. we had two games last night. we one the first one 34-8 and the second 14-1. We do look for subs on thursdays pretty often so if you are in the area and would like to sub from time to time just let me know.
  17. Hey guys, my team is looking for a player tonight to play softball at 8pm tonight in app-leton. We'll have to play with 9 if nobody wants to play. Its no big deal if we do, just wanted to see if someone from here wanted to play. I know there are a few people that live in or around app-leton that is on this site so if you want to play, just inbox me or give me a call at 920-205-5583. If I don't get any calls by 725 i'll just assume that I suck and nobody wants to play with me. umm, by the way my name is Jason
  18. The love/hate of peoples favorite/least favorite players make them see a different game than I see I guess not sure if you have read this therad or not. Because most of the people that are upset are Billy Hall fans. Sure he made it to second but thats no excuse to stand there and watch the ball. I'm willing to be Yost had a conversation with him about it.
  19. As for today's incident in the 11th, it sounded like it was actually pretty close to going out off the bat it looked like it was going to be way gone..but still, he was very very close to being thrown out at 2nd and you just can't have that. Ned needs to have a talk with him right now, because that whole inning could have turned on that play
  20. ESPN isn't doing this to make themselves look better. I'm sure they do thousands of things each there that go unknown. I think the My Wish is an awesome thing that they have been doing for the last couple of years. Last year they did a my wish on a little girl who died earlier this year. It was very sad.
  21. think you and Peavy both caught a major case of the negativities. I wont speak for him, but yes I did. I was upset and really down. I'll admit when I'm wrong.
  22. i wish that I had a cell for ya. I really would like the Hardy bat.
  23. no tv today. booooo. I'll have to listen to jim and bob..not like thats a bad thing. lets get the sw.. win.
  24. Braun has been everything and more than I thought he would be. The guy can just flat out hit the baseball. HIs D has been OK too. He'll go through a slump at some point this year but if he keeps it up, he will give it a good run for ROY.
  25. We are only two weeks removed from multiple people predicting the Brewers would be below .500 and in second place in the NL before the all star break I was one of those people that predicted that. I'll admit that I was big time wrong. At the time they were playing very bad baseball but I never took into account the rest of the division losing right along with us. Not until Peavey and I were in the chat room one night and we were both amazed how they haven't lost any ground during their slide. Now it has been kinda the opposite. The Cubs have won 5 in a row and haven't made up any ground because the Brewers keep winning right along with them. Like Rluz said even if the Cubs take 2-3 from us they only make up 1 game. Its important that we don't get swept and I don't think thats going to happen. The Cubs can get to .500 all they want as long as the Brewers keep on winning, its not going to matter.
