  1. Zambrano's losing it in the first...Already 2-0 Buccos with runners at the corners and nobody out.
  2. It's a day game at Wrigley, actually. Both are beautiful ballparks, though. Game is on at 1:20 CT on WGN. Go Bucs...
  3. I predicted a 4-1 loss with the Hardy streak snapped. I was wrong, I was wrong, I was wrong wrong wrong! At least I got the Nats score right http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif . I don't know how much this was discussed in this IGT, but it does look like the Bush "big inning" struck again. I noticed it a little in the 6th with those two hard hit balls and a four pitch walk, and then obviously in the 7th. That said, it's probably not fair to call him susceptible to a "big inning." He's just a guy, who, when a little gassed, like all pitchers, loses the command a bit. It's just that he pounds the strike zone and so tends to miss right over the plate. All in all, he pitched pretty well, though a better hitting team could've really gotten to him in the later innings. Wow, 23-10. As BA said, "unreal"
  4. this prediction will be wrong!!! Alright then, my nagging gut will be the evidence http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Please oh please let me be wrong.
  5. Bold prediction: Brewers lose 4-1 and JJ's hit streak ends.
  6. I really am not fond of games in which all runs come in one inning, or worse, on one swing of the bat. I like what we did in the Pirates series, getting key runs when they were needed. That said, a win is a win is a win. 22-10, baby.
  7. Attendance 17-18 K for Monday and Tuesday, and over 30K on Wednesday as the place will be packed with school kids. Ueck, I envy you. I too am a Madison guy, but I've only been to 2 games, one of which I had to miss a full day of class for. I can't wait until finals are over so that I can actually get out to the park.
  8. First pitch Estrada New nickname for the catcher Take a pitch, take one!
  9. Two on, just one out Ducks on pond for the hero Please, stroke one Billy?
  10. Poor Cardinals...When it rains it pours...
  11. Bill Hall's strikeout shows why this team is not ready to contend this year...
  12. Umm...mikevan...Care to make any other bold predictions? Like...A World Series, or something? Please?
  13. You could really tell the Cards weren't in to it. It was disappointing to watch. Sorry if this was mentioned before, but for me, this was most evident on the Mench Triple. On any other night, Edmonds keeps that in front of him, or at least runs after the ball if it gets by him. Also, obviously, on that disasterous error / stolen base / balk combination for Wells.
  14. I think it's safe to say that we got let off the hook today. Oh well, 15-9 is 15-9...I wonder how the folks at ESPN will look at that when they're in town tomorrow night...
  15. Today's game, IMO, was with the exception of the two baserunning errors, a perfect example of the all-around success this team is capable of having. It had everything...Clutch hitting, solid starting pitching, lights out relief pitching, patient hitting against a dominant pitcher, solid defense, etc. etc. etc! A win like this is more satisfying than a 11-0 blowout against a Vanderhurk-esque pitcher...It just showcased everything we've got. I love it.
  16. *sighs* Another weekend of overhyped rivalry baseball. Still should be some good ones though... A friend of mine (Brewers / A's / Red Sox fan) is at Yankee Stadium on the field level first base side. So jealous. I hope the Cardinals and Cubs finish every game with a scorelss tie, with each team having at least 15 LOB each game.
  17. apparently they were showing me and my buddy on FSN a ton. if you saw a dude with a road grey Hall jersey with a blue/yellow retro hat with a dude in a home white Hart jersey with a yellow hat, that was me (in the Hall). Yup, saw you guys all night, and was wondering whether those were bf.netters. At one point in one of the extra innings with the Cubs threatening, one of you had an exasperated look, and mouthed "Come On..." All I could think was, "I feel ya, man."
  18. 47 pages? Are you kidding me? Great job bf.net nation. Wow, I am proud of these guys tonight. Chipping away at a 4 run lead to win at Wrigley. Beautiful. I've gotta give my props to Ned Yost today. He had some tough decisions to make, but I was especially impressed by his handling of the pitchers. IMO you don't see enough visits to the mound by the manager. If a guy isn't focused or not following the gameplan, the manager should get out there and set the guy straight, and that's what Ned did...Twice. In the first to Vargas, and later to Villaneuva. After each visit, the difference was incredible. Call me crazy, I don't know what it is so far, but Ned has a fire in his eyes that I am really liking right now.
  19. Anyone who's interested, check out tonight's game thread at northsidebaseball.com. Now those are some depressed Cubs fans. One post simply says, "I hate life." And I thought I was feeling bad about tonights game...
  20. I seem to remember Caballo owning Z, and he obviously wouldn't be on the Chart O'Splits. Let's make him eat his words. Just crush him.
  21. I'm glad we won, but this is a little ridiculous. Can we get a non-nail biter any time soon?
  22. Expected Attendence? Ueck said it should be mid-30s. Not bad at all.
  23. Bush and Oswalt have remarkably similar styles. Oswalt's just a little, ya know, better.
