  1. Yeah that was the biggest statement that stood out to me as well. It's not like Fielder, Greinke, and Marcum are our only good players. In 2013 (assuming no trades/resignings), we'll have most of the same players we had last year, plus probably be better on defense simply by replacing Fielder and possibly McGehee. And I fully expect one of Marcum/Greinke to be resigned. This guy makes a few valid points but to think we could be the worst team in the majors in 2 years is just asinine.
  2. I don't see how Roenicke doesn't have them wearing Cerverceros everyday. They've had the most success in them. This would be like not starting McGehee today because he hit a HR yesterday or not starting Kotsay because of his career numbers against Bailey. He's doing both of those so why isn't he wearing the "winningest" jerseys?
  3. http://www.idlehourresort.com/ We've been going here for the past 14 or so years. It's about 15 minutes outside Minocqua. It's actually a little resort on the lake with about 14 cabins. The cabins are usually booked up ahead of time but there is an area where people set up campers or tents for a few days. If you contact the owners, you might be able to set something up. As I mentioned, it's on a lake and the place usually provides free row boats to the cabins and would probably allow campers to use them too. They have set activities throughout the week, mainly a softball game Mondays and a big horseshoe tournament Tuesdays that is probably the highlight. There's also a little bar right in the middle of all the cabins that everyone usually hangs out in at night. It's my week actually from 7/23 to 7/30 so I'll be up there in a few weeks. My group has about half the cabins and then the other ones are taken by the same people who have been going up there for the past 10-15 years. http://www.moosejawresort.com/ This place is down the road from where I stay. It's a little more upscale but they have actual camping sites listed. They have a really nice lodge/bar/restaurant and really good pizza too. I'm not sure if they are booked or not but you could call and ask.
  4. As happy as I am for Casey to have hit that HR, this probably does buy him another month. I hope that he has turned a corner but one at-bat doesn't really prove anything. He's been awful this season and I still would like to see Green come up.
  5. Well Braun was unavailable, Wilson, Morgan, Gamel, Kotsay all used. I think Lucroy would've been the only one left. I could understand not wanting to burn your backup catcher but he has done so in the past.
  6. Apparently Yuni thought his pants were to blame for his terrible defense in the 1st. He just made a play, maybe he was right. Edit: And he just let another one get by him. I would at least like to see him dive for one, even if it isn't close. Just look like your making an effort.
  7. According to Roenicke, Kotsay has his swing back because he's gotten a hit in the past few games. Also, because Wilson shags fly balls, he is a good LF. Maybe they should use Marcus Hanel as the new 8th inning guy because he throws BP to pitchers.
  8. Yesterday was probably the worst possible outcome for anyone hoping Kotsay would be cut.
  9. How can you guys say that a bench is a waste of time? Shouldn't the team try to upgrade whenever possible? Just because the bench players don't start doesn't mean they are worthless. It's nice to have versatile defensive guys on the bench but it wouldn't also be nice to have a power bat too (not counting Kottaras). There really is no reason to have 3 SS on the team and Kotsay should go too. Hopefully Gamel stays up or Green comes up if Gamel is sent down.
  10. Greinke's difference between ERA and xFIP is over 3.5 right now. Since 02, the biggest gap was 1.88 (Carlos Silva). I still believe his numbers will come down significantly. I see him finishing the year somewhere around a 4.00 ERA (probably around a 3.00 the rest of the way). Not as good as we might've hoped but still decent.
  11. Have you been drinking heavily because of the sweep? This was a difficult post to decipher.
  12. You mean just complain about anything and everything, over and over amd over. That has to be great as well. Can you give me one example of a move RR made that won them a game? I'm going to guess you can not, and if you can it may be one time. I could give countless examples of how his moves has contributed greatly in a lose, but I don't want to complain. I hate Roenicke as much as anyone but Lucroy's walk-off squeeze comes to mind. But I will say that he has probably cost the team quite a few more wins than he has gained.
  13. Fixed. Seriously, it feels like most road games are over before they even start.
  14. Well Roenicke's idiotic bullpen management comes back to bite the Brewers again. I don't care that the park is a joke, Dillard shouldn't be pitching to lefties/switch-hitters. And he did the bullpen no favors yesterday by pulling Greinke after 2.
  15. I would hope that Green gets called up soon after another terrible game by McGehee. Hopefully he switches spots with Gamel after interleague is over and then one of the SS/Kotsay is sent out when Saito needs to come back.
  16. Can they un-DFA him, if Estrada goes on the DL? I believe he can accept the assignment to the minors and they can recall him right away. And Betancourt still sucks...
  17. Wow, just about everything that could go wrong has tonight.
  18. Why is Sedar sending Hart on a shallow ball to Swisher down 5? I know The Black Hole is up next but still.
  19. Like I said, this is a definite possibility. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised at all if it happened. I hope I'm wrong.
  20. I don't understand why he was taken out. With only 6 guys in the bullpen, there is no reason to pull Greinke this early (unless he's hurt). Plus, Marcum is coming off two short starts. I know he said he's 100% now but you never know. If Greinke's not hurt, this is terrible bullpen management yet again.
  21. Well, Greinke has been rocked by the Yankees in his career so I can't say I didn't see this coming. Plus, that first inning probably didn't help his confidence.
  22. I like McGehee too but yeah he really shouldn't be playing everyday or hitting 5th. I like his "everyman" persona but sometimes hard work can only carry you so far when you don't have as much talent. Who knows, maybe he is just putting too much pressure on himself. I don't see how having Green come up wouldn't be anything but a plus.
  23. He fell over because he misjudged it so bad. He tried to stop suddenly and change his course and he slipped. Yeah that was my take on it. He ran so far back and then had to change directions suddenly and then slipped.
  24. Gamel should continue to focus on 1st. He hasn't played 3rd since last year and wasn't that good when he was. We have someone in Green who actually can play 3rd. Keep Gamel playing everyday and get him ready for next year but bring Green up to platoon with McGehee.
