  1. Hall is hitting again and is by all accounts very popular among his teammates. I think this is an important point. I guess Hall is really good friends with CC and CC has said Hall, Fielder, and Sheets were friends before he got traded.
  2. I wish the anti-ESPN folks could've watched it. The booth seemed pretty informed and positive about the team. They gave the Brewers and their fans a lot of credit for the high attendance numbers this year. ESPN loves Braun. They predicted he'll be the fastest player to hit 300 home runs...in MLB history.
  3. Braun was a little too pumped up on that throw...that has to be one of the worst throws to the plate I've seen in a awhile. Come on guys...hang in there. We need to win games like these regardless of how tough they are.
  4. if we don't score and we see Pujols in the ninth its over I think some claimed the game was over in the 1st...so you're a little late on this one! I will never get the "it's over" comments. Why play when losing or facing a good opponent? Playoff teams don't think like that and to be honest Brewers fans shouldn't either.
  5. Weeks put us in a run one lead...and has held us to just a one run lead.
  6. That is funny as if you look through other threads I make you exact argument and agree with you completely but if you take where those players where at the time of the trade and factor in they were all pitchers it shows the high price for an above average reliever.. I think it's hard to know what thoughts were on the three pitchers. I know Inman and to a certain point Thatcher were highly thought of around here and with some scouts. What did other teams think? That's what I'd want to know and maybe those "inside" baseball weren't as high on him.
  7. I highly doubt Yost cares what people on Brewerfan.net think of him, or Brewer fans in general.... and honestly he shouldn't. I completely agree. I don't think Yost is trying to prove people wrong. He thought Mota could get it done for some strange reason (it's probably very strange) and keeping Mota and Gagne out of any close games would kill a bullpen. The problem is that most MLB teams can have two mop up guys.
  8. Phillips is talking about how the cost for a reliever is less at this time of year.. what the hell is he talking about. a decent reliever may cost us Gamel.. just look at what Linebrink cost last year.. I can believe he is paid to be commentator and someone actually had him as their GM... I'm not trying to call you out here, but Inman has struggled lately and more and more scouts aren't high on him. Combine that with Thatcher's struggles this year and it's possible Garrison will be the best player we gave up -- that's a combination of Inman struggling (he's not getting through 5 innings lately because of pitch count issues) and Garrison pitching pretty well this year. I think the Brewers knew Inman at best would be a #4 or #5.
  9. Weeks got scared on that one...not that I blame him.
  10. I would gladly listen to Steve Phillips over Brian or Bill. Agreed. I like his GM perspective. The whole breakdown of the CC trade was great having both GMs there. And again for those anti-ESPN people...Braun was just picked to be the fastest to hit 300 HRs....in MLB history! Those ESPN guys are so biased!
  11. Even if Mota has "figured it out" this is a horrible place to try it. I know Yost wants to support his players and such, but at the same time this move does not help the team. It may help Mota in the long run, but I'd take my chances that it won't and at this stage in the season we shouldn't be trying new things out that are this risky. Please have somebody warming up when he's in...that's all I ask.
  12. The guy has pitched very very well for a 5th starter, even more impressive when it' factored in how much he's improved as a pitcher from his Tampa days. In his previous 8 starts, Seth has only allowed three runs or less in each of those starts except for one of them. That's damn good production for a 5th starter, yet instead of it being appreciated, we still have people thinking they are being clever by calling him McDung. Agreed. It's probably the same posters calling the game done in the first inning. Hopefully Mota is just working on his mechanics? I don't think I'm pro or anti Yost, but bringing Mota in here would be a horrible move and I can't justify that at all. On ESPN it looks like he's ready to go in come the bottom of the inning. Oh boy...
  13. Just under 90 pitches. He is just about done. I'd say if they get to his spot in the order this inning he is PH for. Thanks jhart. If his spot doesn't come up, I have no problem with him starting the 6th as long as someone is ready to go should somebody get on. He's been pitching well since the 2 runs, but I do worry about him wearing down quickly. MOTA warming up!
  14. McClung going 5 and giving up 2...I will take that. What is his pitch count at? I wish that would be a common thing on ESPN in one of the upper corners. Guys are up in the pen so my guess is one more base runner and Seth is done.
  15. It looks like the game isn't over? Who would have thought?
  16. Just a side note for all the anti-ESPN folks they're giving the Brewers quite a bit of love in particular Braun and the city for the high attendance numbers this year.
  17. How big is the discount on these tickets?
  18. Again if only McClung could command that curveball. It can look pretty good at times. If McClung can hold them to two runs through 5, I'll take it. I think our offense is going to get some runs the second time through the order and the meat of the order coming up. ESPN just mentioned that McClung lettered in seven sports in high school.
  19. Weeks better not get picked off or caught stealing...
  20. It's all about McClung's curveball. When he's throwing it with any kind of control he's fine out there...when he can't throw it for strikes they can just wait for a fastball.
  21. It's only the second inning and we're already saying it's over or it's not our day. Good thing it's a 9 inning game. I just hope our players have zero thoughts that some are having here. We'd lose every game when we'd be trailing. I'm not worried about 2 runs I just want to limit the damage and let's see what our offense can do!
  22. It's a joke that Bush isn't starting this game, it really is. Please end this stupid platoon now Yost, McClung is just not a good pitcher. I don't know if I would say that McClung isn't a good pitcher, but I will say he's more of a mystery than Bush. I don't think this platoon will last very long and in reality won't be a big deal. I think if McClung has a bad start now and Bush does well they'll just insert Bush. Even though McClung has lost quite a bit of weight from last year (IMO) I really don't know how well he's going to handle weather in the 90s. I think he'll be lucky to go five.
  23. That's a tough 2 runs to put on McClung. The difference so far is that the Cards took advantage of the difficult fielding situation (due to the sun) and the Brewers didn't by stranding Hardy.
  24. Capuano did seem oddly optimistic he would be in MIL next year, given his arby status and injured state. He gets it, as he's a smart guy, so maybe discussions have already been had and a handshake minor league deal struck...I had assumed he'd be elsewhere. I think it'd be great to get him in AAA next year. I know he has a long road and nothing is certain, but I don't expect to see too many studs in the AAA rotation next year and that means they'll probably take a shot at some vets and I'd be fine with putting Cappy there and see what happens.
  25. It's almost as if he eased up on that play and took it for granted.
