  1. I'm a big fan of Braun (my friends and I made Braun shirts that say We Are All Witnesses that we wear to the games), but Hamilton would be a cool story. The last ROY we had didn't pan out so well...
  2. This just sounds like a way for baseball to make more money and then the players and eventually Boras. When Boras starts deciding rules of the game we have problems.
  3. I think a lot depends on how he finishes the season up. $9 million is reasonable now at this time, but with all the other young talent we have I'm kind of hesitant even though I'm a Jenkins guy. Maybe we don't pick it up and try to re-sign him cheaper?
  4. I know ESPN and other sources were saying he would be a 1st round NFL pick (I'm guessing later in the 1st round), which probably would've been a 2 - 3 million or so bonus. I also think 1st rounders in the NFL can sign any length (at least 3 than restricted). The money works out, but I really wish he would've tried to do both. I can't think of anyone who has ever been a WR and a pitcher.
  5. No way Soriano would ever play in Milwaukee unless we paid him the most and made the most promises. Eventually the Brewers are going to have to make a splash to be considered a destination for other free agents. Think about the other Milwaukee team (the only one in the state that made the playoffs last year): 1. Mo Williams 2. Michael Redd 3. Bobby Simmons 4. Charlie Villanueva 5. Andrew Bogut We signed one cheap and totally overpaid for the other. Drafted two and traded a draft pick for the other. It's not easy getting athletes to play in Milwaukee when it comes to the top free agents.
  6. Remember (which I'm sure most of you do) A-Rod played in Apple ton coming up with the Mariners and did enjoy it. I think the Yanks will try to move him and I'd love for him to accept a trade to the Crew (and the Yanks pick up the salary), but I guess I just don't see it happening. It's going to take a solid group of vets and maybe a prospect to even have the Yankees thinking about it. Many of you think he's still great (I do too), but that means the Yanks won't give him up cheaply unless there are some more rants and stuff in the off-season. My guess is if it's a quiet off-season and the Yanks don't rip on A-Rod, it would take at least Hall and Sheets to get him. Hall maybe had a career year or even if he matches those numbers or exceeds them is a little comparable to A-Rod and Sheets trade value has to be that of a solid #3 right now due to injuries. I think it would take Rickie or Prince to get this thing rolling.
  7. I'm just watching the Tennessee and South Carolina game and I was wondering if any of these guys are projected to be in the minors next year? The pitcher for South Carolina has struck out quite a few guys, but doesn't throw that hard.
  8. I was hoping that Hall would start today at CF. Corey is hot and I'm a person that thinks JJ and Rickie need to play to improve/get going offensively and defensively (esp Rickie). Any thoughts when or if Ned will do it? Maybe pinch-hit for Brady later in todays game?
