That happened to me when I was a freshman in high school. I ducked under a really slow and obviously very poorly located curve ball. I feel it hit the bat and turn around to see where it went and suddenly is everyone is screaming at me. Well I come to realize the damn thing went fair, right back to the pitcher, about 10 feet from the mound. I was thrown out before I got 4 steps down the line... an embarrassing and difficult lesson to learn. -
Arnett just gave up his 3rd HR of the game and has been pulled. I've reached the point where I don't understand what's being gained by running him out there to have his confidence destroyed when he's clearly not right. I don't want to hear talking about pitching with conviction.... if in fact that is all he needs, he's certainly not finding it in WI. This is a bit of a knee jerk reaction I'm sure, but I'm officially off the Arnett bandwagon. edit.. Arnett's 11 HRs are the most of any right handed starting pitcher in the entire system, Dave Bush is next with 10, and Bowman follows with 7. Of the LH starting pitchers Wolf has given up 15, Cody 13, Lofgren 11, Waters and Wright both have 10.

Arnett just gave up another HR, first pitch of the game, and the dude's first HR of the season. That's been a very familiar theme, not the first pitch thing, but the first HR of the year. Normally it's been to hitters at the bottom of the order who are hitting very poorly on the season.

Nice win, the umps gifted us a whole inning worth of outs though with Casey missing the tag on the stolen base (runners never get the call when the ball clearly beats them) and the phantom DP. I'll take it though.
-
Please let Loe pitch the 9th Macha.
-
I'm still shocked by that phantom DP... I can't believe Rickie played it so poorly and that 2 different Umps missed both ends of the call. Good for Narvy, good for us, but if I were a Ranger fan I'd be pretty livid.

Calling all geeks: Now Including Tech-o-Wienies!
TheCrew07 replied to theavrock's topic in Off-Topic Forum
As I'm lovingly referred to as the Tech-o-Wienie at work, I'm unable to assist you since I'm not a geek. -
I have a feeling if Nolan Ryan ever meets the guys from Baseball Prospectus he'll punch them in the eye. He's even more hateful than I am when it comes to PAP.
-
I just noticed that Lawrie tied Gindl for the team lead in RBIs at 32. RBIs are not something I usually look at.
-
For the second time this year Bowman has 2 starts in a row without a HR given up. Yes this is strictly a reverse jinx attempt, I didn't mention it last time but I was thinking it.
-
Swing it my pitchers! Huntsville Top 7th Lee Haydel flies out to left fielder Brandon Yarbrough. Dayton Buller lines out softly to second baseman Jake Kahaulelio. Michael Bowman doubles (1) on a sharp line drive to center fielder Dave Sappelt. Coaching visit to mound. Brett Lawrie grounds out, shortstop Kris Negron to first baseman Eric Eymann.

Watching Lucroy, how is he not ready defensively? It has to be a pitch calling deal...
-
Wow McGehee almost missed the tag.
-
Esky likes the high ones... he's going to have to learn to lay off that pitch.
-
too many, I'm not so sure what's so tough about bunting but I guess I never had to bunt a pitch over 80 mph.
-
Vlad is good. I'm still ticked he took that ball off the top of his shoes to break up Sheets' no hitter.
-
LOL at Weeks.. and how did Bill and Brian not know that was only ball 3?
-
said HR pushed his OPS up over .810 for the second time this season.

Fans around this site may remember Howard Kellman, the Indianapolis Indians Broadcaster. MiLB recently did a very nice piece about him calling his 5,000th game for the franchise.

Yep the T-Rats are postponed, double header tomorrow, pregame starts at 16:45
-
I'm not sure if the rain is a good or bad thing. I've gotten in the habit of listening to the T-Rats every night, but they can be incredibly frustrating. I'm guessing with the scattered storms rolling through that they will be postponed.

Parra Replaces Bush in Rotation Sunday; Bush "not pleased"
TheCrew07 replied to Funketown's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I'm sure people will disagree with me but I've been very unhappy with him, he doesn't seem to give max effort anymore, especially on balls in the corner. I've been wanting to compare his effort to Soriano for a while, but I just can't bring myself to do so because I hate the Cubs so much. He just doesn't appear to be playing with the same enthusiasm as he has in the past. -
Is it wrong that I'm alright if we get to see Feliz pitch against us?

JJ Hardy to Twins for Carlos Gomez
TheCrew07 replied to BrewBomber's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
It's too bad JJ and Rickie have been hurt so much early in their careers. -
The trade value of Prince Fielder (part 1)
TheCrew07 replied to Bombers's topic in Transaction Rumors & Proposals
While I would love this trade, there is no way Tampa would do it. They aren't looking to take on payroll. Florida doesn't deserve the Rays or Marlins, that's all I wanted to say.
