  1. Dillard's secondary numbers are fairly poor since A+, which is most likely why he was moved to the pen. I was never all that excited by him. Jackson is up and down, but he pitched pretty much the same way at AAA as he did at MLB. He always reminded me of Doug Davis, gives up a lot of baserunners but when he's on he works his way out. If he makes it I think he's a 4/5 at best, probably just a bullpen guy in Milwaukee. Parra I agree with, if he can refine his game a bit more and continue to be healthy, a lefty that throws 95ish is pretty valuable.
  2. What's not to like about Gindl at this point? As others have pointed out Colby really liked the kid and thought he might be the steal of the draft. Who can argue with that through the first bunch of games to start the season? More walks than strikeouts, hitting over .400, very good in the outfield from what I've heard on the broadcasts... This is a kid to watch in my opinion.
  3. I would rather they go with the hot hand. If Villy pitches the 7th and mows em down, then let him have the 8th. I'm not big on all these defined roles, define the role for closer, get the most out of everyone else I say.
  4. I expected Seidel to rebound nicely, his get me over first pitch fastballs got picked on in that first outing.
  5. That's way easier than me emailing files around. Can someone lock this please?
  6. If anyone wants the mp3 of the last out from the perfecto shoot me a PM and I'll email you a copy.
  7. I saw that, thank you much. If anyone would like the mp3 of the final out shoot me a PM with your email addy and I'll get em out tonight.
  8. I might have to capture the audio of the last out and make it my startup sound for Windows.
  9. Velocity still in the mid 90s in the 8th and 9th, good stuff. Congrats Manny!
  10. PARRA! YESSSS! If that doesn't put him on the radar of Brewer fans again I don't know what will. I'm so glad I caught the last 3 innings after I got home and settled.
  11. I must say, the last time I was this nervous listening to a game it was the '82 world series.
  12. Thank god, nice job Tbow. Also, if you haven't tuned into the Sounds broadcast yet, do it quick.
  13. He didn't block that ball very well, in fact I would qualify it as a pretty lazy effort on both those balls that got away in the AB against Pence.
  14. You people are way too superstitious...
  15. I'd like to see Villy in the 8th too.. I don't get why when a reliever is rolling he automatically has to come out after 1? If the guy struggles sure, but if he dominates his inning, give him another.
  16. Mono? Wow, I'm surprised they let him play, our kids have to sit when they have Mono.. edit. Also, thanks so much for the information.
  17. Well I'm officially worried about Inman.. if it was just a couple of runs here and there for 5 or so runs per outing sure... but he's just getting beat around, and beat badly. I wonder if he's just trying too hard to make good pitches all of a sudden and missing his locations. The old "aiming instead of just throwing" metality. Unfortunately I've gotten home late for all of his starts and he was gone from the game before I was able to get the audio, so I really have no idea what's going on. edit. Will Iman fan... any insights from the man himself?
  18. Well Balfour is coming back from severe injury and started the year in AA, so he's come a long way in a short time. Capellan can just go away for all I care, but the walks are the reason that I currently want nothing to do with Sarfate. In my opinion his WHIP is just too high to be an effective reliever at this point in his career. I would like to see some combination of Yo, Balfour, and Thatcher in the bullpen in place of Capellan and Spurling... and now that I think about it Shouse for that matter.
  19. If they don't see it, there is no call to be made. Only a fool would reverse a call he or she didn't see, no matter what the opposing team or fans have to say about it. Af the high school level, working with kids who always seem to want the easy way, and want everything done for them, teaching kids how to score "the easy way" doesn't sit very well with me. Win because you're better, not because you're exploiting the system.
  20. Funny you mention Suppan, we were talking about what to do with him today if he ends up being the worst pitcher on the staff. Villy and Yo are up, Villy is a STARTER longterm in my opinion. We'll have to see how things shake out, but that's a tough contract to move if you want to. edit. The best part of this weekend is I'll be at the game tomorrow to watch Yo in person.
  21. Wow what an overall ugly pitching day for the Minor League teams... I'm definately not used to lines like these this year.
  22. BALLGAME!!! Sorry I mentioned Gwynn, some people just aren't able to let go.
  23. I think you missed my point... It was Gwynn vs Hart... now it's shifted to Gwynn vs Gross.
  24. Thankfully Hart is putting the Gwynn debate to bed, though now it's not Gwynn vs Hart, it's Gwynn vs Gross.
