  1. I actually agree with Rluz... someone might want to check hell... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  2. I just don't see how he can pitch in the rotation the rest of year and the post season. If he's valuable enough to make a playoff roster, I hope like heck he has innings available. I'm not one for Dusty Bakering our young pitchers in a playoff hunt. edit. Oh my god I had poor English. Sorry.
  3. Everyone should get help from below, with the exception of WV who landing LaPorta most likely... some power for that hack and slash offense.
  4. He's the best pure defender in the entire franchise, as long as he bats over .300 it doesn't matter to me. He'll break in as utility player most likely. Unless he totally bombs, both Rickie and JJ will still be around when he's ready to contribute.
  5. No barriers between the spectators and the automobiles, are you kidding me?
  6. Man the Stars had a great opportunity in the 15th... Huntsville Bottom 15th -Hernan Iribarren walks. -Yohannis Perez out on a sacrifice bunt, third baseman Michael Myers to second baseman Victor Mercedes. Hernan Iribarren to 2nd. -Tim Bittner intentionally walks Steve Moss. -Michael Brantley grounds into a force out, shortstop Robert Valido to second baseman Victor Mercedes. Hernan Iribarren to 3rd. Steve Moss out at 2nd. Michael Brantley to 1st. -Steven Sollmann grounds out, shortstop Robert Valido to first baseman Jeremy Frost.
  7. He threw one breaking pitch all inning... but it worked.
  8. The Stars game is driving me nuts... score some runs boys!
  9. Does a lost run come back to hurt the crew?
  10. Wasn't Lew Ford a top prospect at one time?
  11. He's more of a 70 pitch type pitcher right to me only because I have a horrible feeling that if he goes out for the 7th I feel a crooked number is coming up. I'd feel better if he had given up a three run inning and the Brewers had already come back. The big inning looms over Bush this year like a dark cloud. 3-4 starts without one and I'll probably start to feel better though.
  12. The Stars pitching sure hasn't been good tonight... unless they have a huge comeback it's a dead heat to the wire for the first half championship.
  13. Ohh no doubt, but there were always concerns about Eveland's weight if I remember right. At any rate, if Inman succeeds in AA and goes injury free next year that puts Yo with the big club, maybe Parra as well, and Inman AAA. This is a pretty exciting time to be Brewer fan. Not to mention Rogers could still come back and be productive, if nothing else if he keeps his velocity maybe a bull pen role like setup or closer. For that matter I still refuse to give up on Jones, though it's looks pretty unlikely he'll be a major league pitcher for the crew at this point.
  14. It just hit me, we had a legit stud pitching prospect at every level before the promotions: AAA - Yo AA - Parra A+ - Inman A - Braddock, Jeffress In the ultra rare event that all the pitchers make the bigs and succeed how sweet would that rotation look? Yo, Parra, Inman, Braddock, Jeffress. Substitute Villy for anyone below Yo! on that list and I still get a little misty thinking about the possibilities.
  15. Also, Gillespie's lines have been pretty horrid again lately. Here's hoping for a better 2nd half.
  16. I have no doubt it's Inman, they need a dominant starter to help with the playoff push.
  17. Anyone else feel sorry for Gomez the pitcher from Lake County? He gives up 10 earned in 4.1, I guess the bull pen was gassed or something. He had given up 7 through 3.
  18. I'm all for maximizing talent for the 4-5 year window we'll have here, but why on earth would a small market team trade away inexpensive talent? We can aquire 1 or 2 free agents max, the rest of the players will have to come from in house. You want trade away 12 years of 2 players who could have valuable contributions for 2 months of a good but declining pitcher and 2 months a hitter who's way the wrong side of 30? Why don't we trade Inman, Salome, Mench, and Escobar for Roger Clemens and Bobby Abreu if that's criteria? If you're giving up cheap young talent for a stud, you want to be able to control that pitcher for awhile, not for 2 months. World Series? I'd love it, but it's far from garunteed even with Buehrle. Whomever said these are video game trades is correct, would DM's job be safe when we're 60-102 in 3-4 years after making a deal like this? Why would he mortgage the future against the present, the present which contains a very young team that predictably is up and down, like most young teams are. I'm sorry I just don't want a part of any rent a player deals that cost top talent. It's not in the best long term interest of the franchise, and a good case can be made that it's not in the best short term interest of the franchise either.
  19. Sometimes the gun catches the arm speed... 94 would be just about right if his velocity was back.
  20. Possibly, but you have Rottino as a super utility guy at AAA that will be with the Crew next year in some capacity. Then you have the toolsy prospects that are currently blocked by Hardy and Weeks in Escobar and Iribarren that could break in to the big in some sort of utility role. Finally you have Green and Brewer who have had nice early returns to their careers. It just looks to me like he's the odd guy out unfortunately, he's always sort of been stuck between the 2 waves of prospects. He just doesn't seem to be in the long terms plans of the organization in any capacity.
  21. Callix Crabbe has by far the best name in the organization as far as I'm concerned... other than that here's his career stats: www.thebaseballcube.com/p...abbe.shtml As you can see, his OBP is usally higher than his SLG, which is why he's never done it for me. I'm sure others like Pogokat can answer as to his tools, but he's never hit for high enough average or power for me (other than High Desert). Though he's the kind of guy that the saber crew likes with his high OBP. Finally he's a 2B, and with Weeks at MLB, and Iribarren at AA, he's never been high on the radar for obvious reasons.
  22. Yea buddy... Unfortunately or fortunately in this case when our horses died (my parents owned a ranch for most of my youth) we sent them to the glue factory. I remember the vet telling us once that horse meat was used in pet food if I remember correctly. Outside of large predators such as lions and tigers, I don't see what use Zoos would have for it. However, how is it any different than butchering cattle? At least it's not dogs and cats, to each his own I guess.
  23. My musical tastes are pretty broad, which the exception of country, I'm down with pretty much everything. The Ace of Base CD thing made me laugh out loud though, so I instantly had to fire up Napster and give a quick listen... but of course, Napster doesn't have the old stuff. When I was in the Hard Cafe in Vegas a couple of weeks ago a Republica video was on and I couldn't believe that I didn't have Ready to Go. The first thing I did when I got home was download it for next year's highlight film! I rule.
